hey guys
well I joined the team of the 350 swaps, but sorted cheated, I bought it that way, It is a 78 280z, with a 96 corvette motor (LT1) with the vette trannie, then it has a LSD rear end. Not sure on a lot of the specs as I just bought it and am having the interior professially done. It has a fuel cell installed and dual flowmaster exshast. To stop her , it has disk brakes off a 350 Z. Bought it from a fellower Zer who is going throu a divorce. When I can find more info I will post at that time. I can't wait till sumer to take her out on a run.

Check for the three basic things a car needs to run. and report back. And yes it either needs to be in park or neutral to start.
I forgot to mention that the donor car was an automatic, but my car s 5speed so I can't put it i park or neutral, thats why I asked about fooling it by doing a bypass to think its in park or neutral. ANy help would be appreciated,,,, thanks and Happy New Year bob

How do I check to see if it is getting gas? I felt the lines and I can feel it vibrating, as well does anyone know how to by pass the switch? If needed I can get a pic of the plug ends.

Well I finially scraped the 84 trubo donor car, and in the week before Christmas we installed the turbo into my 86 300zx. Problem is it won"t start , ( was running good before we tore the 84 apart). Here is my question,,,,do I have to jump the electricial harness to fool it into thinking the car is in park? the car turns over, and there is a cliking in the gas sending unit as well as a hissing sound in the front of the motor.

Well I finially stripped the 84 donor car and installed the turbo into my 86 , It is in , however , I have a question, we changed the front wiring harness to allow the turbo to hook up, however the 84 was a automatic and the 86 a manual, Installed a borg warner 5 speed as well. But my question is do I have to do anything to jumper the auto plug to allow the motor to start? It turns over but won't start. May be a gas issue though, as I can hear the gas sender clicking.

Hey guys
I have two ideas,,,, first if was to do the turbo switch in the 86, what does everybody think,,, should i keep the current motor and install the turbo gear on it or install the turbo motor, I have heard that the regular motor with the turbo gets better compression and us eless boost. But the turbo motor is better equipped to handle the turbo. What are your thoughhts??????
On the other hand the 280,,, would i be better to install a 350 chev, or maybe try thr turbo300 in it?
Please give me any ideas u may have.
Once i start it will be late to swirch then ,,,LOL
thanks bob

Heres the issue, i switched my heater control but it kept coming on throwing heat all the time . ANyway i put the origianil back in, and although it works fie , i can't see the numbers on the temp gauge , if i look close they are there but they don't light up enught o see, as well one of the lights which indicate that it on defrost or demist isn't coming on, i can live with that but I need to see the temp degrees. Is there a fix or do i replace the unit? If so who has one?
TIA bob
