  1. This is what the PREVIOUS owner did to my Z and it only ended up trapping moisture and making the rust worse IMO. Cut the sections out and replace. I did it w/ almost no prior welding experience, along with the frame rail replacment, and everything is just fine.

Sadly enough, I, the one who started this thread, still have this job on my Z going on. I had to cut out most of the floor and make my own metal pieces. I still need to weld it together tough. I can't believe it's been more than a year. It'll be done in maybe 2 more months.

  2. I stripped the interior of the Z myself, and found like $10 in change( mostly pennies :-P ). I tried to do everything I could to pay less, but i guess it wasn't enough. The frame rails on the floorpans are destroyed by rust. I've decided to cut the floorboards off myself, buy a replacement kit, and have someone do the welding. It'll take me time, since I'm new to that area of work, but I think it's a simple job requiring a lot of time. On another note, I did buy a civic because of my Z  My Z gets like 10MPG, even though it only runs 13s( damn carb'd V8s lol) I'll post pics of the progress to see what you guys think.

  3. I just replaced the brake pads on my Z with KVRs. They work perfectly now without making noise. The brakes kept squealing, so I replaced the pads 3 times, replaced rotors, brake calipers, all because I never realized that autozone brake pads are garbage for Zs. This was the longest brake jobs ever. Thanks to this thread I saved a lot of money because I was going to take it to Just Brakes (AKA Just Ripoffs).

  4. The turn signals on my Z don't work. The hazard light are working tough. Now, the Z has a 5 terminal flasher, what current are those terminals receiving + or -? does the flasher send + or - to the turn signals? does the turn signal lever send + or - current to the flasher?

I have spend hours trying to fix it and I just can't. Please if someone knows answer those question specifically, thanks.

  5. Since you didn't state how you intend to drive this 350 with more horsepower thats not easy to answer. If you plan to launch and shift it hard ...chances are good you will break at some point... it is just a matter of when. If you drive it smooth and easy on the petals perhaps... never.

IMO there is no sense in adding extra HP if you can't have some fun with it and to me that means "gettin' on it" once in a while. So why spoil some of the fun with a r180 diff.? Get a r200 diff. and upgrade the half-shafts and not have to worry about breaking things.

I drive this car only 2-3 times a month, everytime I drive it I get on it hard. I've never had a problem with the half-shafts or differential, only problem I had was when the U-bolt on the driveshaft broke. The r200 seems like a good thing to get, I never even though about it. Will the r200 give me a higher top speed? currently my top speed is 100MPH with the 3 speed auto tranny.
