  1. That is amazing, I can't imagine the processes involved to replicate the gearbox and powerplant in such functional detail.... mindblowing!
  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280061255439&rd=1,1 ONLY 12 HRS TO GO anyone know about this one?
  3. It least your area is somewhat prepared for sucha thing. In 2000 we had a blizzard drop 24" of snow and ice on us here in North Carolina damn near all the way to the coast! We shut the world down if flurries fly more than 20 minutes here so you know we had a mess!! I had no power for 5 days and in the country no power means no water either and no where to run too when it is that bad...
  4. yeah, if your losing voltage throught the ohm resistance of the wires it is either wires or the system itself. And weak spark would cause all of your problems. Time to upgrade!
  5. Looks like a good possibility... many variables apply but looks good..
  6. Keep the compression modest and use the same bottom end parts you would for a turboed motor and you can change the cam and add injection and turbos at anytime....a good balanced bottom end is the key..
  7. You can give it a shot..a small shot! of starting spray in the airbox and if its firing it will hit and sputter at least. Sounds like you may have damaged a wire when you pulled the cables loose or you may have a problem in the electrical side of the ign switch itself. Did you accidentally arc anything removing the cables? This can blow a fuse or trip a relay as well.
  8. If the valve seal stuck to the stem during the downtime it may have torn the seal.. also if the valve guides were knurled by your machine shop or replaced with brass guides they may have cracked a guide and this will allow oil into a cylinder.. But that thing is burning RICH!! and thats enough to keep a cloud of eye burning stench alone... Have you added antifreeze yet? You can smell the obvious sweet smell of antifreeze when it burns. same with smoke, but fuel is the one that burns your eyes the quickest..
  9. I do not know what is available in Canada but www.harborfreight.com has the swivel caster pneumatic wheels so I am sure some Industrial or Agricultural supply there will also.
  10. read this forum.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=117591&highlight=harbor+freight+welder
  11. "Bartering" is the staple of HOTRODDING!! I do love a good trade!
  12. Bill for HF thats really not a special price, they have those deals all the time so no worry on running out. HF also gives rainchecks on anything they sell..
  13. 240z is right I have a bud who wanted to learn and bought that one. I taught him how to weld with it and he makes go carts, aquarium stands and keeps his tractor and lawn equipment going with it. He has put on a few mufflers too and it still works well... I guess its been 2-3 yrs now...
  14. Sounds like a good time to fire up the heat in the shop, crank up some tunes and fix something!!
  15. Oh and BTW I use flux core wire for sheetmetal work since I'm gonna grind and smoothcoat repairs anyway and you don't have to buy the gas....
  16. well, under $200 and reliable don't go together. I have friends who have bought inexpensive MIG welders from places like Harbor Freight and have had good service with average sheet metal. Only setback is if you begin to have a problem you cant find parts to fix it. So consider it a machine to learn on and as long as you dont try to burn long beads without a break to cool and keep it clean You can do alot. Just make sure if you buy the units from H Freight you buy the extra warranty. I love to burn/break their stuff up and get it replaced with no hassle at all...LOL I wont go into "tips" for good welding but take a little night class or spend some time messing with scrap before you start welding on your car. you can gey a good stick welder for that price but they arent sheet metal friendly....
  17. You could always just C clamp some long 2x4s along the bottoms to make it a bit more stable when you need it..kinda add some "outriggers" for better balance when the kids wanna ride!! LOL
  18. Sometimes I use flux core welding wire so I don't use the gas. That lets me remove the tipshield all together and get in really tight spots... And if you havent already bought an autodarkening helment get one! It is the best thing since the McRib!! Harbor Freight has em for $49 when you catch em on sale...
  19. I dont doubt it a bit... damn royalties and permission, rights crap... i would think with the whole new "V-DUB" commercial mess they would go for it...
  20. FLAME?? WHO YOU CALLIN' OLD!!! LOL j/k I am old... but so are 260z's and they're cool so I"M COOL TOO...
  21. is it some sort of turbine or generator jack ? Looks like it is made to align something together for fitment and slide into place?
  22. did you say it "clicks" sometimes when you hit the key but doesnt spin or does it do nothing at all under the hood?
  23. Sounds like a ground cable issue. Have you checked/replaced the actual battery cables not just ends?
  24. "had to delete post" DUH! I didnt read the whole thread!!! You did exactly what I said!! LOOKS GREAT
