  1. I had this problem on my 05 350z that I had putt twin turbo kit on. I remember everything was cool other then it would stall going up to lights ect. Basically exactly how you describe. I understand the reason as the turbo's caused more restriction for the afr to get a good reading at idle, or when running low rpms. The guy at the 350z shop (forged performance) said at the time the 03 04 ecu's nissan can adjust the idle. but not 05's so I had to keep my ac on. The guys told me to do this untill my tuner tricked the ecu with a tuning program. Many people were having specific problems just like yours. If the idle dips down to far it loses signal and pow it dies. if you were in a stock 350z id say turn on ac and see if it dies. maybe the position of your afr is causing a goofy reading. if there was some way to make the ecu think you had accessories on, like Ac ect. it for some reason will not let the car die at idle. I tested it vigorously. Eventually the tuner found a way on the u-tec raise idle. But I had to live with this for a bit. Good luck this may be of no help but it really hit home the way you described whats going on.

  3. The main difference I have seen in "quality" of paint besides it being easier to paint ( most of the time) the good clears flow out much nicer so there is less orange peal and also even if the cheep stuff goes on smooth when it shrinks up it tends to get some orange peal. With good clear it will not shrink as much, when it does it will not get much orange peal and where you really notice the difference is when pollishing the car and keeping the car clean. cheap clear scratches way easier.

also with buisness slower alot more shops will do booth rental. The booth is awsome not only because of health reason and lack of dirt or dust. But most booths have great lighting wich is very very importaint when spraying.

  4. the paint brand does matter... not so much in the base... although good base covers much much better and you have much less chance of tiger stripes and the clear is where you spend the money ... I love house of kolors flow klear.. it is awsome... I have heard sikkens is the best... I say dont skimp on the paint... also depending on kolor wet sand down to 600 it really helps on thin paints, like house of kolor. I work at a bodyshop restore shop and for most we charge 3k to 5k and we use a new spray bake temp controlled booth.

  5. I work at a bodyshop/ restore shop, he probly knows it and is just buying a little time before getting to it, I know because this is the first thing to look for when the clear goes on, especially with lighter colors that go over a white base. Like some have said a bigger gun tip, and open up the fan of the gun so you can lay it more even. also when they use cheeper paint it tends to not cover as well... had a little trouble with this color also getting good coverage when I used ppg omni paint.

  6. metal to metal is good stuff, and it sands much harder then regular bondo, I use it over patches and welds where I might worry about axpanding ect. and had good luck so far, they only thing is... if you sand it wear a mask and a good one and sweep up all the dust! its like aluminum dust... I swear you can feel alzhiemers kicking in ....

  7. very nice ! this is fun to watch, I am just about ready to dive in to FI on my lsx ! I cant choose what turbo to get. I can get a new turbonetics on craigslist for 750.00$ I wana see what this does ! I love low budget builds! nice to see the good work. Im going to have to look into one of those harbor freight tigs!

  8. from my perspective, I have pissed 2 girls off really bad with cars, I think the biggest problems with relationships is one thinking the person is a possession, but I must say for me it was my possessions that ruined the relationship. I have learned its the things that arent material possesion that matter the most. And people are not material.. and if they are... treat them the same as the car... it will work itself out real fast watch and see ! =)

  9. Nice work, I like your set up , would you mind posting what thickness you used and the fittings on the site, is it 1'' pipe you used ? this is exciting and looks to be a great bang for the buck set up. I was thinking of doing 2 spal gt35r wanabees wich are not ballbearing but supposed to be decent but this set up would easily knock 1200 or more off the price. Thanks for any info!
