  1. I appreciate the info. However this car ran sucessfully for many years......the only reason that it is not running now is he purchased a 911 and boosted the hell out of that. It was installed by Turbo Tom and tuned by him as well. I have thought of using a megasquirt set-up and changing everything over but I want to see what this will do first. I will rarely run this thing up to 21.5lbs as it is my first boosted vehicle. ( I think that it will take me a while to get used to the power.) I will see what this is going to be like first then maybe take a different direction afterwards.

  2. If anyone is interested let me know and I will take the time to scan all of the pages that I have. Here is one page that I have. Now remember that this is circa 1979. I have the complete options list for this kit, instalation instructions as well. I also have a few other things.

  3. As soon as I am comfortable with the car I will put it on the dyno.......

I actually have the Trubo Tom literature that was avalible back in the day. I will see about scanning it if there is an interest in it.

  4. Well I was finally ablet o get the car to the house. it is a 1970 240 Z. It has a Turbo Tom kit will all of the fixxins'. Dial-a-boost, water/methanol injection, Dual stage nitrous kit (first 100, second 60), bigger sways (F,R), MSD 6A-T, Mallory Coil, Racer Brown cam, O-ringed heads, 7000k redline, Momo stering wheel, Aries pistons, the list goes on and on........

The car has say for about 8 years and has been in the garage for all of its' life. I am the second owner and have the original window sticker. I have known the original owner all of my life and he has meticulus records of this car. I am going to get it running over the next few weeks and start to play with it.....I have long term goals for this car and want it to show up in a magazine.......I think it will just take me some time to get it the way that I want it. My IS 300 will now have to sit on the sidelines as I start with my new toy.

  5. Mine was set up by Tom himself back in 1979. I just got a 1970 240 Z that is # 806...........fully built motor, water/methanol, dual stage NOS system, suspension and all of the goodies.........I did the math on mine and at 18lbs. of boost this thing puts out 468Whp......( without NOS)

  6. 2001 Spectra Blue Mica from Lexus

2001 Diamond White Pearl ( with a hint of Blue pearl in the clear)Lexus ( This is what I repainted my IS 300 with)

Mercedes has a color palate that I like that is elegant when mixed with a little more pearl........and metallic

  7. I talked with the owner yesterday for about an hour about the car. IT is a TURBO TOM system.....Tom himself did the tune on the car originally. Tom and the owner were friends and hung out quite often. The motor was bluprinted with Tom to be a perfect match for his system......Now All I have to do is get it up and running.........

  8. The paint is original, the motor has 78,xxx Original Miles on it, and the VIN # is in the low 800's. With all of this under consideration I was thinking of keeping it the way it it. But I do agree, BALLS OUT POWER is the best. But I was told that this thing was putting out mid 400's to the wheels. It was using 103 octane as well. Or that was what he always ran in it to get the 20lbs of boost. I am not sure, if I go EFI then I will go all out on the car. suspension, paint, interior, wheels, cowl hood, flares, front lip......I just need to get my hands on it first to see what shape it really is. I wonder if there really is that much value to this car once it is on the road again.

  9. Money isn't a factor with him. He has been a family friend for over 30 years. My father and I know the history on this car. He jsut got really involved with his career and let the Z sit. As he was out of town a LOT. He would Start it every so often but not drive it on a regular basis, cause he has a sickly boosted 911 as well.

  10. Well the time has come. I am finally getting shot of picking up the baddest sleeper I have ever known. My father used to be the president of the Z Club in Houston back in the day. Well we just got rid of our 73' 240Z a few weeks ago. Well I am going to look at a 72 that is still carborated on 20lbs of boost. It is also on a water/meth, and has a dual stage nitrous kit. By the calculations the car should dyno in the mid 400's. The guy tha thas this Z also has a 83' 911 that is putting mid 500's to the wheels.....so he knows his cars.....

    The Problem....

The car has not been started in TEN YEARS. However it has been in the garage!!!!! I will take lots of pics tonight when I look at it. I would like to get some opinions as to what I will have to do to get it running. I would like to keep it a orig. and not switch to EFI. I know that the body needs new paint but there is NO RUST.......

    I am so freakin excited!!!!!!
