  1. Yea i went over this topic before and a guy i was talkin to that actully owned a Rally 240z in cali told me when he welded his diff in his z the big problem was turning and yes he did drive this everyday would he recomend if u dont have $$$ to fork out for an lsd yes would i do it yes as long as i have a spare Diff just incase...

yeah thats the problem i have a diff with 336 gear ratios in it and they are really hard to find... the way i see it im goinng have to buy a used stock diff and weld it cause theres no way im welding my diff with the hard to find gears in it

  2. alright...i totally cant afford a LSD kit for my z...and i know lotsa my friends like havn thier diffs welded for drifting...i have driven a couple welded diff cars...rx7...sr20 240's the works.... but i have no idea how it would feel in a z...i would think it would be worse then a turbo car because of our instant torqe would jolt the car.... anyone here have a welded diff in thier z?? should i or should i not? everyones telling me to but im so aprehensive... what should i do?

  3. Mike, I don't know why you'd post about your crash and share a video of you and your friends breaking the law and expect other people not to question you or what you did. Unlike most other car forums, most of the members here are a little older and have already sowed their wild oats, so appreciation for this type of thing might be a little harder to come by here. Regardless of your racing experience and the street racing subject which is always a touchy one, it's never a good idea to post video on the internet of you or your friends breaking the law.

i understand...no plates are in it i made sure of that... if u really break it down...through the vid we really arnt racing at all just driving fast..

  4. Please don't ASSume to know how much time I spend on the track and I won't do the same. I'm not sure if you're talking about drag racing or not but what I was talking about is driving on a road racing circuit under a controlled environment. If you're talking about the same thing then I'm surprised that you're still out there on the street mixing it up.

you are correct...i do not drag race my car..i did not build it for that... i have done time trials at sears point, thunderhill...i have auto crossed it, i have drifted it in compition, i race shifter karts, i have even raced my friends midget race car in petaluma.. i dont street race like u think...its just me and a couple friends go driving...i dont do it for money or anything stupid like that...this is my 3rd body kit on that z because last time i was on the track a m3 wrecked infront of me and i ran over some of his parts... racing has been in my family for generations... im not some "punk" that only drives fast on the streets and thinks it makes him cool...ok?

  5. yea, some stupid 16 year old kids were racing a couple days ago here and killed some 60 year old lady going for coffee in the morning, and one of the kids was burned completely. It's still fun to slide some corners and what not, but i've learned the hard way seeing 4 of my sisters freinds in highschool killed because of reckless driving. don't get me wrong, i like to race around, but i'm growing out of it on the street.

i know accidents happon...we dont "slide corners" anywhere populated we go up on the mountain roads and empty parking lots to go mess round...we arnt stupid... we dont endanger anyone else other then ourselves

  6. I think you were street racing and very lucky that nothing worse happened. Anything that happened in that situation was your fault no matter if your buddy spun in front of you or not. Do yourself a favor and try a track day. It's legal and you'll have so much fun you will never think about trying it on the street again.

thanks for the big daddy talk jeff...i spend more time on the track then u do

  7. DAYUM! you still have a stock cam!?!? swap out the cam and get a tripple throttle body set-up for it and go megasquirt. you an make it pass smog. 1 fast Zs car passes smog. he lives in AZ tho. only other option I can forsee is having a custom intake manifold made that looks stock, but with 40mm runners and a 60MM tb. then, run a megasquirt kit INSIDE the original ECU case and use a dummy AFM when you smog.

lol yeah stock cam but i think im going to put a really big ass lift in... after im done with the outside.. im getting the body kit repainted and 3m clear bra'd so thats takin a big chunk of money out... cali has really strick smog laws when it comes to visual...i had a friend i put a supercharger in his bmw and the guy wouldnt smog it even tho we disconnected it...we had to pull it out completly to smog it

  8. Very Nice Z, hope you get some kind of deal worked out!

thanks man! your car is sweet too! i just dunno what im going to do with this car...i drive it everyday and its just not a daily driver anymore...im so paranoid about parking it and coming back with a door ding or cracked fiberglass...or something...its just so hard to have a nice car these days and keep it that way!
