  1. I would go with the Rx-7 but since you have no title. Screw that cause you are gonna hate yourself for not being able to run it on the street and play with people.
  2. Calico, I pmed you back with the info you need. But there is no "shop". Me and shome friends just have tons of friends who race, so we all pretty much came together and rent a very large old Greyhound Bus maintance shop for pretty cheap. So we have everything we need to build everything our littel hearts desire. We do alot fo racing down here. So it just became smarter to come together and work on each others cars, instead of paying all the shops around here to do it. Just let me know if you need any help.
  3. If you have minor welding experience. I can ship you out a set of engine and trans mounts for your car. Up to you.
  4. The car wieghs 3200lbs roughly. I already planned on putting in forged pistons. I just needed to know what type. And I pretty much igured those heads couldn't get me too far. Hence the reason I am here asking you guys. Now can I get into the 10.3-10.0 range with nitrous instead of having to dump so much much into a turbo setup?
  5. Engine is a SBC 406with forged crank, rods, hyperpunetic pistons, cast iron vortec heads, and a victor jr intake manifold. I need only to make the amount of Hp to get this Z32 into the mid 9.5's. So with that said. I want to run a single turbo setup with intercooler. I am not worry about lag since I will have the ability to build boost off the line since I am running an automatic. And if it does become an issue, that's what they mad nitrous for. I already plan on using a CSU blow through carb. They lead on blow through carb setups. What kind of pistons, compression ratio wise do I need to run? What kind of cam? Now Nitrous guys, what would I need to do to the motor to get this car to do the same thing but using nitrous? Simplicity is always the route I like to go. But I need to be in that 9.5 or less range in the 1/4 mile. And sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
  6. No clue, car was sold to a friend of mine down south. He stored it for about 2 years. I ran into him at the Darlington race track and the deal was made. So who knows. It did have some clues of work that had begun on the car for something. Never the less she has a SBC going in her now for sure.
  7. Got more pics for ya'll. Pulled the Z to the shop today and started yanking the motor out of the other car and getting ready to drop it's new internals in. Transmission should be built and ready by the end of next week. Getting close...Yummy.
  8. Thanks Redline. I do belive you have a Z32 v8 correct? I would love to see pictures if you have them. Since we with the Z32 V8 swap seem to be such a secret society.
  9. That is pure sex right there. Very very nice setup my man.
  10. I will answer all the above questions and even the ones we haven't ran into yet as I go. I will keep everyone posted with pics and info as I go. Hoping to get the engine and trans in by the end of May and have the car at the track. Questions I can answer so far are. Stock or aftermarket aluminum radiator can be used if you go with an electric water pump with a low profile motor. Or you can use the LS-1 style stock water pump. You will have to use a stock style distributor with a remote mounted coil. Unless you want to chop just a little into your firewall. All fire wall openings seem to be no problem for the engine at this time. But wait and I will let you know for sure. Exhaust wise and don't hold me too it just yet. But because of the time we took to get as much clearence as we could. You will be able to use a set of shorty corvette headers or even "possibly" long tube headers! I only plan on running the following accessories. Altenator, power steering pump, and an electric water pump. I am going to use an aftermarket style under dash air conditioner setup. The fab up trans was a 700r4. But I have the room for as big as a 4L80E with the mounts I'm building. So the transmission choices are endless. Everything on the line up of shifter location seems to be perfect. But let me see once I get to that point. Hope I helped.
  11. We put her up on the lift and in about 5 hours had everything fabbed up and ready for the new power plant. These mounts have the engine set low enough to run a carb or fuel injection system. I can fab up a hood latch cross member piece to allow for more room with the fuel injection air ducting if I needed to. This mod to that member would have to use a custom slant radiator. I can reproduce EVERYTHING needed for a COMPLETE swap once we are done for the Z32. And I don't plan on charging even as much as the hinson kits for an Ls-1 swap in the FD rx-7's. Let me know if you would like to talk about complete install kits. Here are some pics. Please remember these are fresh out of slicing and welding. The kits sold to the public would come powder coated. The car is a 1990 300zx TT
  12. Thanks guys, these are the answers I was looking for. The heads have concerned me greatly on making HP. Will using a good set of aluminum heads hurt me on the nitrous end? If I tore out the pistons and installed some forged ones. Which kind should I use? I woud really like to use that new ZEX plate kit that just came out. I am trying to keep a low profile intake up there hence the reason for the victor jr. intake. If I can get 600hp on nitrous I do belive I can get my Z32 in the 10's.
  13. Tearing the motor apart to install better parts isn't a problem. I'm just wanting to know what I'm working with and if I got a good deal on it. What numbers HP wise should I expect? And how much nitrous can a run through his thing?
  14. Just bought an engine. Guy tells me that it should make somehwere near 550hp on motor and should be able to handle a 200hp shot all day long. I payed $1,800 or it. So I feel I got a deal anyways. What do you guys think? Here's what I know about the engine. I know this motor put a 3200 lb Chevy II into the 10.80 range in the 1/4 on motor alone. 406 SBC 13.1 comp Vortec 64cc heads Victor Jr. intake manifold Forged crank Forged rods Hyperpunetic pistons High idle camshaft...I don't know the specs on it yet.
  15. I would love to see pics of the swap aswell. I spoke with GEMINI a few months ago about his swap and how I should get started. Mine is in the shop as we speak getting worked on. But I running an all forged 406 SBC hooked to a 4L80 auto trans. I plan on spraying the crap out of it with nitrous. But I'll get some pics. WOW it's gonna be a fun summer for some of us.
