  1. #1.... FOR THE LAST TIME GET A FREAKING HAYNES MANUAL OR DOWNLOAD THE FSM. All of your questions can be answered by flipping open the Haynes manual. The front seal is separate from the timing cover.

    #2... Go to the junkyard & get a pulley. Probably $15. www.car-parts.com

jesus christ, sorry i cant ask a few questions on a freaking forum. excuse me while i go hide back under my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rock.

    have a nice day

  2. ok anyone have a resource online on getting a pulley and the seal that goes into the timing cover? do i need a whole new timing cover just because that seal came out? it looks like it was made onto the cover on the inside.....

oreily's parts here in town says its $240.00 for just a PULLEY to fit my car.. figured there would be some universal ones?? what the hell lol.

i dont mind using a used one in good shape

  3. unless you moved the distributor or changes the sparkplugs around or the timing chain messed up then your timing is fine........that crankshaft pulley just drives your alternator, waterpump, powerstearing, a/c.....and probably the only reason its running ruff is cause of your alternator not charging.....which has been said 3 times.....why ask questions if your not gonna listen?

i know the alternator isnt charging, its because the crankshaft pulley isnt even moving, because its fucked... I am not asking questions now man, i was just wondering if that threw my timing off with the crankshaft pulley broke, since the shaft was constantly turning with nothing holding it tight onto the pulley because i drove it a little ways home, but decided to pull over and get it towed.

I am listening so i dunno wtf you mean by that.

my issue is solved now, the whole reason before was i thought i had a electrical wiring problem but ended up to be the altenator, but its not the altenator it self... its the crankshaft pulley which turns my altenator, waterpump, powerstearing, ac etc.

No flaming here, i appreciate all the help.

  4. well ended up being my crankshaft pulley... its broke where the key holds it in place.

the bolt and washer came completely off that holds it on the front of the pulley :o

luckily the bolt and washer was laying in my fan shroud!

so im going to be buying a new pulley and crankshaft seal tommorow and putting it back together, im assuming this threw my timing off... so im gonna have to check my firing order. it would crank up previously and sounded normal, just a bad idle. so maybe nothing is internally screwed.

    will update tommorow.

  5. motor will start and run with lumpy idle and then wants to go dead without some throttle pressed.

just got from up under it, seems like the bearing around the shaft of the fan coming out the head or whatever is busted, with oil around it, still not sure what it is so far, but not looking good.

and yes, none of my belts are turning over, even my radiator fan

my mechanic buddy is coming over soon to help me out, will keep ya posted

  6. anyone?... im trying to get my car to run right, been through all the normal z bs... cleaning every connection and ground, all my lights are on (fuel, brake, engine, door,) what the heck could be causing this? my idle jumps from 200-1000 and then the car dies. i was thinking a bad ground somewhere, but ive checked and cleaned everything... car was running superb till on my way home from work today.

not sure where this plug goes, but since its right near the ecu im guessing its well needed???

  7. hey all, havent posted in a while... got a question

there is 3 plugs that go into my ecu on my ZXT but there is also another coming off the harness near those 3 that is not plugged up... and i cant find where the hell it goes... is this a boost sensor plug or what? the wires are solid green and black. its a 2 prong plug i believe looks kinda like a "L" shape female connectors

  8. Ive cleaned everything atleast 3x dealing with the EFI including the ecu.

Bogs as in holding the gas down and the rpms go up then down, intake pop and backfire yes, more of sputter/spit sound.

I have taken it to Nissan and they said my fuel pressure was correct...when this problem was going on. Guess I have to buy a gauge and test but dont see the point if nissan said all was good.

What else would you like to know? I need help asap... confused =/

  9. Well I am starting to get fuel issues again with my car, I can pinch off the line going to my FPR and it revs great but when I let go and let it run normal it bogs and wont rev past 2k, I just bought a brand new FPR so I know this isnt the problem, is my motor saying "TOO MUCH FUEL?" But I just thought the regulator was just for the return line eh? I know it is not a vacuum leak because sometimes it would run perfect then back to crap. And my vacuum is reading 25. Fuel pressure seems normal.

I use to have this problem but then it would go away after driving it for about 10-15 minutes but now I think its here to stay and has been like this for 4 days.

Here are some of the things ive tried:

    plugs

    plug wires

    rotor cap and button

    new injector plugs

    fuel rail

    cylinder head temp sensor

    timing

    brand new TPS

    Mass air flow sensor

The car is stock 280ZXT besides intake/exhaust. Any Idea's what could be causing this? Im pulling my hair out!!

  11. So I started on my intercooler project with the NPR but clearance issues with piping on stock 280zxt Fan is impossible to route around? Do I have to go electric fan for this to work? The pulley's for the fan seem to be in the way... Ive searched and found pics of a stock 240zx being able to fit the piping under the dizzy from a 45 degree angle couple coming off the TB but Im thinking this may not be possible on my 280 without a electric fan...

    Please help!

  12. Lol I think duct tape would kinda leak some air... :icon45:

But on a serious note I need to know because I want to start this project this weekend. I can get some type of adapter at lowe's or home depot? not sure where to find a coupler that can change like this...?
