Hi if you buy a rebuilt ECU do you have to change the chip from your old one? 1985 300zx non turbo automatic. I bought a ECU from autozone and someone said I need to change the chip. If so can I do it myself or send it in to change it.

The bracker is beside the battery hidden in the inter fender it is the green one. Danny

Theres no fuse in there for the power windows (in fuse box inside) will see if I can find a breaker the chilton manual don't help at all. Thanks Danny

Hi have a 1985 Zx coupe neither of the power windows work Repaced the door switchs I found the fuse box under the hood by the battery.don't know how to tell if its bad or not . the repair manual don't tell anything about5 the windows. Thanks Danny

Ok I thank you have hit the nail on the head. Now how do I reset the ECU to take it out of safe mode?

I'm just about ready to part this car out. I bought it for a parts car for my 300zx turbo but was a nice one owner so I just hate to part it out. But my patence are getting thin.

Don"t know how. The trottle works fine the car just shuts the fuel off at 2200 RPm

Hi I have a 1985 300zx that idels fine up to 2200 RPM then boogs out . Things Ive done so far replaced MAF also fuel pump and filter new air filter removed the CAT. didn't help.Took it to shop and they said bad mass air flo sensor so I took one off my other 85zx no difference. I put the old MAF back or my other zx it ran fine. wonder if it could be a bad conputer it read ok at the shop. or a shot in the witing to the MAF I don't know how to check that. Thanks Danny

thats what wrong with mine it striped the splines out of the torq converter. The fluid is clean and not burnt but the car acts like it don.t even have a trans. in it.Two much hot rodding I guess,wonder How many trans. shops has charged you for a rebuild when it was just a torq converter. Danny

Thanks my friend gonna rebuild mine for $400.00 he said the only week part is the torq converter. the spline seem to strip out.Danny

Learned somthing new today from my tran. man 300zx tran. strip the splines out on the torc converter.Nissan was famous for this.wonder how many trans. shops charge you for a tran. overhaul when its just the converter

I guess I could part them out on e bay everyone else seems to be doing it.
