  1. Thanks guys, but I am a bit confused still, if the Z31 is the RB25 Transmission what is the RB26DETT Transmission?....and what is the Z32 tranmisson, thanks......Oh and the link gave ALOT of usefull info!
  2. Can the RB25DET or RB20DET Gearbox fit on a L28 without modifications? is it a direct boltup?...I tried searching for this info all over and have yet to get a straight answer!, What would I need to do if it is not a direct bolt up?
  3. The radiator was severly clogged when I bought the vehicle (recently bought) and I didn't notice how high the temp was one evening coming from work until it was way past redline and steam was pouring out of the overflow
  4. Nah, I made sure it followed the curvature of the chainguides
  5. well first off I have an L24 in a C32 Laurel (working to get a Z ) and the cyliner head gasket blew, we changed it ok, but the tensioner fell out, we opened the front cover and had to go and retime the engine, I got it working, but I was off by two teeth, on correcting this mistake, I got the engine working, but right now when the engine starts it sounds like a connecting rod bearing is worn, as soon as the oil pressure comes up, the noise goes away and the timing chain begins to make a noise like it is "running" against a piece of metal.....anyone have any ideas on what could be my problem?...or ever had a similar problem?....thanks in advance
  6. I had a problem like that once and found out that two things were wrong, 1: there was an air leak that closed up on re-torquing, 2: the carb A/F was adjusted wrong.....hope that helps

Oh and "Damn that pickup looking good" pertaining to the "EVO" comment.... I does always tell them "Is not the plane is the Pilot" you can't beat old school! Oh and two questions for me and the forum 1: is that the original diff you are using? and 2: what method did you use to drop the back?
  8. thanks for the info but I'm not too reserved about paying for the CC's just looking at a possible way to take the money out of the government's pocket and putting it into my ride. I've decided to go with the 3.1 stroker using a 2.8 block and use the 2.0 engine I have now for all my EVIL! prototype experiments..lol

Thought I might have issues with the oil and cooling. was even thinknig about the integrity of the strength of the block under those conditions (3.1 Stroker)....anyway most valuable information from you both..thankyou Oh just thought you might like to know.... the engine to be, (3.1 stroker under supercharger and looking at the DOHC frankenstein) is going into a Nissan 720 pickup will post some pics of the conversion as soon as I get a camera....and you people on this forum ar taking me down the Z path I am begining to take a liking for the 280ZX....considering looking for one

Thanks guys for in insight, I'm from Trinidad in the West Indies. and we pay for CC's here so 1:I was looking at the plus on the cost benifit and 2: I don't mind paying for the resleeving job here it costs In the ballpark of $1800 or $300USD but what are the pro's and con's of taking this L20A and resleeving to accommodate L28 specs now and 3.1 stroker later?
  11. Evening all, can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a L20A block and bore it to L28 specs...and later use that block for the stroker 3.1 engine?? Reasons why and/or why not Thanks in advance!

I have a 720 pickup and I recently put in a L20A to do all the bodywork and basic conversions in preperation for a L28...I am having a problem with a grating/rubbing type problem when I pull off on first gear and a little into second gear after that it works fine...has anyone ever done this conversion or know any links that may help me with this conversion? any comments or suggestions no matter how small appriciated Thanks in advance!
