Just progress, 1977 280z with alot of mixed year parts. 3 turbo motors 81,82,83, and a 240z airdam, 5 speed from something. this is a purpose built car, so i will apologize in advance to the resto guys. But this cars intention is similar to my first girlfriend not much to look at but it doesnt matter cause shes fast. Enjoy

It would rapidly lose power in the hotter part of the day. I replaced the cooling system in it's entirety including the waterpump housing and theproblem persisted. Note that I found deep scoring on the water pump impeller seating surface. I haven't inspected the turbo hot side housing yet but I expect to see cracks, at least I hope. This prob went on for months and covered 3 stock radiators and 2 motors. Motors pulled more for trouble shooting than any thing else. It's behaving fine now with a new turbo I just feel like I was barking up the wrong tree for so long that I deserve an explination.

Is it possible that a bad turbo could behave like a cooling issue? This is a curiosity question only, I have replaced ask parts in the original problem, I just never found the casue and it still bothers me.

Can I get some opinions on radiator fans, not manufactures but configurations. Should I get 2 small fans or 1 big fan? I have one electric fan now that was about 1550cfm but is dying and probably 800cfm, or less (almost lost my motor yesterday) High desert is a different animal from where I'm from in NJ. I'm also trying to add as much cooling as possible. Location facts 280z/81 turbo 3row stock rad and lots of bills Albuquerque NM 5000ft elevation average 15 to 20 percent humidity mild temps till about 2pm then anywhere from 95 to 115 degrees never much of a breeze Daily car (1 mile commute to work) Occasional day off trips around town (thats when the fan became a problem)
