  1. So I want you show you guys my z and hopefully help me in my quest to bring this bad boy back to life..so pics. rust is every where. floors are shot.. this car has had a lot of diy fixers trying to bring it to life. the good news its that shes runs great. tires are shot and i only have 3 of the riken wheels. the wheels look good wish I could find another one. fist i need to fix the rust and the brakes.. i believe my mc is shot. i can fill it up with fluid but still get no pressure.. i took out the two bleeder crews on the side and press the petal to the floor and still no fluid came out the bleeder crews.. i have a 280zx one some place that ill throw in to see if it helps. ill post better pics soon.
  2. so i need some help identifying these toyota brake calipers that i found in my parts pill.
  3. and yes thats a 81 280zx turb next to it..
  4. Hi guys, so I just want to share my new project that I'm going to be starting on very soon. Its a 77 280z. My plans are to get her road worthy at this point. The car is running and sound great. Little rust hear and there, not to bad. Floor boards need replacing. Some holes by the gas fill whole. The brake light is on and when i drive it I feel a drag.. SO first thing first is all the break calipers will be rebuilt and the drums will be inspected and replace any worn parts. My plan is to get rid of the 280z bumpers and install the front 240z bumper and shave the rear. (I love the shaved look) The wheels I got with it look really nice for now.. but I'm missing one. IF anyone can tell me what wheel I have and if you got a spare one laying around let me know. so here she is... So my goal is to have a nice reliable daily driver.. so i know it needs some rust fixed.. after that is onto the fun stuff paint! i want a pearl white with black trimming. im a make coilovers and get rota watanabe 17s with zg flairs. we will see how this pans out..
  5. a little video of her running.
  6. ok ill pm Big Phil. i think if i take the time and really put some real TLC into her, she will return to her previous glory and turn out great. I will more that likely make this my dd. with a full interior of course. i have a buddy who has a 81 zx non turbo with full interior and new tires. he wants to give me the parts. he wants to use the motor and trany in a rat rod. he thinks it will be funny when people lift the hood and see a straight six instead of a V8.
  7. LOL yea i tried to sell it for him with no luck so i was like I want to finish it for him. then i might sell it
  8. yea i know man that's why i want to finish it up. just a few things here and there. and this baby will look super nice.
  9. So i received this car form a frind of mine that never finished this project. this is how i got the car. I plan to install the stock interior and finish up the build. well the tunning of the motor. the motor is running but i know the tune is just a base tune. i have the software to tune it. i had to learn to use Dosbox. so i got familiar with the program. and now i just need to learn to tune it. i have a fair bit of knowledge on tuning a turbo car. i have turbo eclipse with evolution VIII ECU. my question if how to monitor knock... i dont see an knock sensor or a way to monitor it in the software. i know the E6K is a old ecu but its still a good ecu. I hope someone has some input for me. here is a list of the things done to it so far.. 1981 Datsun 280ZX Turbo engine with complete disassemble, machined and rebuilt. Dished 7:1 compression pistons New piston rings New Gaskets 5 Speed T5 Transmission with new clutch Garrett T3/T4E Turbo AR .63 -- 60 Trim (466159-5004) Stock oil cooler NPR Intercooler 2.5" Intercooler piping Hose Technique couplers Haltech E6K engine management system MSD 6A ignition MSD Blaster 2 coil 20# boost gauge Modified fuel rail with DSM injectors HKS blow off TIAL waste gate Walbro fuel pump Datsun Turbo radiator electric radiator fan controlled by Haltech GM boost controller controlled by Haltech Plugged intake manifold 60mm throttle body from a 240zx Engine was taken from a junk Turbo 280 and put into this NA 280 body. The engine had 76k miles on it before the rebuild. The previous NA motor had 149k miles as seen on the speedo. Everything should start up and run . The car was only driven around 250 miles since the transplant. It was never tracked or raced. All the miles were during Haltek tuning sessions. The body has some rust spots in the floor. The brakes don't work very well and may not work at all.
