That depends on what you need. Stock replacement or aftermarket stuff?

Motorsport Auto (MSA/TheZStore), Z Car Depot, and Z Car Source are all solid sources for stock stuff. KF Vintage JDM is the goto for replacement sheet metal. Skillard offers a lot of stuff if you're looking to replace stock parts with something more simple and a little industrial. Then there's stuff like ProTunerz, Milkfab, Stuff Harry Does, etc

    Thank you.

  2. Hello everyone. I've been away from the forum for some time and I'm sort of out of touch. I have four "Z"'s and would like to start getting back to them. I see Black Dragon has closed the Z parts business. Where are you guys getting your parts these days?

  3. I plan to go with 275x17 in front and 315x 17 in rear. (I am at 245x16 in front and 275x17 in back currently). I use purpose built tires: hoosierR6 (track day)and A6 (autocross), the cheapest thing I can get for the street (because I drive slow on the street and like to so big smokey burnouts with the line lock on), and dragstrip tires (currently 28" Mickey Thompsons, but I may get Hoosiers next). So I don't really care about brand for street tires. I'm looking at dropping my front RBR width to 8.5 in order to get better offsets (the 9 and 9.5 s don't take advantage of the space made available by coilovers). The 275s may hang over a bit but i think they will be OK. I may even look at wider than 315s in back for autocross. I buy all my tires used that I can to help offset my guilty pleasure.

Hi RebekahsZ, I'd like to know where you get your use Hoosier racing tires.

  4. Looks like you got your mustang II setup going. Good for you. I really considered almost exactly what you are doing except for the four link. I'm looking at a little different approach right now to keep from cutting the floor out and I'm also looking at using the YZ body kit so I'll be going wide. I'm pretty handicapped right now so it will be a while. I've subscribed to your thread and will be following your progress, enjoying your updates and offering moral support. I'm anxious to see how your project turns out.

  5. I've enjoyed this forum for some time and would like to contribute to it's exsistance. I have a rpoblem with Pay Pal and just can't make myself use it. Is there another way to get money in the kitty?

    Thanks,

  6. I had a similar problem with a 260 that had been sitting for several years when I bought it. I filled up the tank and drove it but it would sort of "run out of gas". I kept tools in the car and would stop and clean debris out of the carbs then it would run good for a while. I did this several times then it cleared all the junk out of the fuel tank. The rev counyer jumping around will happen when the point gap it too narrow. Ymay have more than one problem.

  7. I could not agree more with the thoughts of Tony D and John Coffee. I'm an old guy, 61 years and as such, I don't read Textise and will not waste my time trying to decifer any post where the first letter of a sentance is not capitolized, comas are not used or grammer is so poor that I can't figure out what is trying to be said after the first pass through a sentence.

I'm on here almost every day and once in a great while I see someone get on their high horse just to be able to come down on someone else, but it is rare. More typical is when it is obvious that the person has made no effort to find the answer on his own that people get a little abrupt. When I've had a question I've tried to put thought into the way it was stated and have always gotten direct and thoughtful answers from the more experienced members of Hybrid Z.

It is my opinion that if a person is really into his car and he wants to be a part of this community he will learn to behave appropriately and will reap the rewards. I say we should be appreciative of those who so willingly share their knowledge and leave this board as it is.

I'm just sorry that I have nothing to contribute to this board in either informative posts or money, but times have been tough for a couple of years and I haven't been able to play or spend much. This is a great place to hang out and I hope it remains so in the long term.

  8. I like Hanson and Greenlee taps as well as ACE brand. Northern Tool is the last place I buy because I purchased a stove kit from them and have gotten all kinds of catalogs in the mail from people selling safety equipment, lables and tags and all kinds of junk since and believe they sold my info to those other people.

  9. Tom Monroe used to tie his plane down next to mine at Ryan Field in Tucson. He wrote for HP Books then and having been a Ford engineer he wrote the "How to rebuild" books for Ford engines. He left Tucson to go to one of the Carolinas to work for a NASCAR team. He was a pretty sharp guy. I wonder if the errors are his or the editors.

  10. Geez, back in the early to mid eighties I got to race two cars at Phoenix International, Firebird Lake and the Eloy Gran Prix. What a hoot the G.P. was. The first car was a Triumph TR-4 with a 2.0L Pinto engine and stripped to 1800 pounds wet. The other was a March S.V.. It was a " Run whatcha brung " club. With the TR-4 I had a blast for nearly nothing, especially driving through the streets of Eloy, but the S.V. easily ran $1000 per hour of track time and I didn't get very scientific about it like you serious guys.

I was working a full time job with some overtime plus running a consulting/mechanical design business and maintaining the cars and all that entails by myself. I finally burned out and sold the S.V. and bought a Bellanca 260. Also flew a rented Pitts S2B, a Luscomb 8A, some sailplanes and the usual Cessnas. It was a lot cheaper to fly and I made $10,000 on the Bellanca when I sold it. I will tell you right now though it is the cars that I miss.

My point? Not sure exactly except that I don't regret spending that money. It seemed like alot at the time, but I did something I loved and today if I could I'd do it all over again and maybe put more effort into it. The only thing that even came close to road racing was aerobatics in the Pitts.
