  1. It is easier to do a good clean weld once than have to fix a bad weld twice. There is no excuse for this mess,my eyes hurt
  2. NO brakes need here Just stomp on the gas 1st,2nd,3rd
  3. Yes the fuel rails are dead end which I am going to change. I did this to try and keep the lines and rails to a minimum in the engine bay to avoid heat soak in the fuel, There is so much pipe work in the bay it is hard to keep anything cool in there. But in saying that the engine does not run hot.The exhausts pipes have been coated and dump pipe wraped in heat wrap.Took it for a drive saturday and the pump did not run hot and noisy:D the cooler is helping:razz:
  4. Having so much motor in a small engine bay causes a lot of heat, and the fuel picks this heat up and moves it back to the fuel tank.On the dyno my fuel would get so hot we would have to let the car rest for a while to cool down. The fuel pump would become noisy and struggle moving the fuel.Having one less pump for it to travel pass could only help with less heat and placing a cooler on the return line has got to work So far the pump does not get noise when driving,so it has to be pulling a lot of heat out of the fuel:smile:
  5. The Intercooler has now got plates welded around it to try and make it more efficient. gone is the surge tank and lifter pump and in its place is a fuel cooler on the return line to the tank. The fuel lines from the tank to the pump are now16mm ID (5/8)
  6. When I started 11years ago I was 20 years of age and thought I would look cool behide the wheel of this car, I just wanted a powerful street car,I guess thats what I got.The car had to be ready to race, cruise well and be in a state to compete in car shows. Hill climbs, track days, drags Ect. I dont believe in having cars like this if you not going to do some form of racing with it.
  7. http://www.nissanracingengines.com.au/main%20page.html go for it people:grin:
  8. Thank you all, your comments keep me motivated.Looking at the car and working on it every day makes me tend to forget how unqiue it is.The car is far from finished, its been 11 years since I started the project so no rush to finish it yet;-) The development of the engine wont go any farther as the power is unuseable on the street,it frys tyes in every gear and has so much torque that it can drive around in gear 5 all day,I can leave it in gear 5 and climb hills and still overtake without gearing down. The rear end has handled so far because of lack of weight,it just wheel spins coming on boost,If it got traction Im sure the half sharfts would break,I will find out when I take down the 400m.The consul is staying clean,no painting or powercoating and the panel above that in the dash will be made the same. The whole car has had a new chassis built into it(though the rails and inside the car) its stiffer than a 15 year old first thing in the morning. Our laws are hard about cars in Australia so only the best will be allowed to be regiested to be used on the roads here.It was strenght tested on a rack. The paint work needs to be done again as im not happy with it,then the interior will follow. the engine computer and CDI is altronic (Aussie) the injectors are 770cc,the head porting was done by myself and as was the bolt ons, the piston are JE lateral gas ported items the rods are scat and the valves standard. It runs 25psi boost and revs to 8000rpm.Im working on ways to make it mangage heat better, there is no prolem with it over heating, I just think it can be improved. This car really scares the sh^#t out of myself and anybody that has been in the car when I put my foot down,Its fast, too much for a street car.It kicks harder than a stalion thats trying to be broken in.
  9. to4z ball bearing 800hp the covers are off for tuning and I am in the process of making aluminium covers;-) Im new to the site, normally on the Australian sites, dont be surpise to see me pop by from time to time:icon31:
  10. Taking my brother for a ride check the drivers side wiper,it folded back at about 250km/h down the straight NISSAN POWER!!
  11. Here are the photo of the heads after porting with the inlet runners ported and polished as well, in the first photo you can see down the runners into the inlet ports of the heads, the joint between the two can been seen. These are opened up and match ported. The second photo shows the block, bored, decked and o-ringed. the two last photos are the inlet and exhaust ports( ported, polished ) A lot of work in these heads and manifold, I hope they work! they will be on the flow bench soon, I guess I will find out soon enough. manifolds,"yes" the manifolds, a lot of work in these puppy's, cut from the steel you see in the first picture, to the finish product in the last picture. Each runner is 1.5 inch in dia and pipes are within 100mm of each the cross over pipe is 2inch
  12. The new 7.25 inch twin plate Quarter Master clutch. The 3 puck brass button started to slip at the power levels experianced before the new engine build. This should fix that problem. here are some of the latest photos of the Datsun (ZDREAM ) YOU CAN SEE FROM THESE SHOTS the round roll bars, the harnesses, tailights and the boot area.the spare SIMMONS wheel fit behide the seats on a post welded to the floor and held on with wheel nuts, the seat will be done in leather(black) as will the rest of the interior, with some blue added. the boot area has in it- to the left is the water injection tank, the middle is the fuel tank ,that go's though the floor and to the right is the water injection pump and fuel expansion tank.
  13. 2nd place at powercruise Sydney 2007 6 cyd blown class. This is my 3rd run which placed me in the final. The first two runs only produced 466hp due to fuel problems. After much stress and some time to think, I returned to post this run. this is my final run which scored me second place, beaten by a VL commy with a RB 30 at 590hp ( he used NOS to post this score ) I placed mine on 98 octane pump gas! Go the Nissans
  14. [/iDyno day, and the first session was let down by seized injectors,Lesson learnt, flow the injectors before fitting. Now with the injectors fixed session two on the dyno was called to a holt due to the 32mm wastegate being to small for the job.Once big boost and big rev's was in play the wastegate struggled and the tuning had to stop. Now in place of the turbonetics wastegate is a tial 44mm waste gate. So once again Back to the dyno for session 3,so far the car made 320hp on 5psi boost and 470hp on 20psi. There is still a day of tuning in the car but starting to sweat with powercruise on this coming weekend. You can see the size of the two wastegates are not much different, but the valves sizes are big in differance.the last pic's show the wastegate in place with new manifold and screamer pipe. You can see in this shot the much smoother flowing bend in the new screamer pipe.
