  1. man, thats rough, I am way too lazy to pull the headlights out again. arg... Thanks for your help though.
  2. A little while ago I bought an 83 280zxt to pull the engine out of for my 240z. I havent had chance to go up to where the car is stored and pull the engine yet, but I did take the headlights out when I first picked it up because they were h4's and had to be better than the sealed beams I had. A few months later I finally got around to installing them and I discovered that they not only are very bright, but they have an odd greenish/orange tinge to them. I personally have never seen them before, but considering all the lights )dash radio, and amp) in my car are green, I am kinda pleased. Does anyone know what kind of lights these are and know if they are legal for street use. Thanks Here's a picture, It's kind of hard to capture the green/orange on a camera, but it came out pretty well in this picture.
  3. I would be VERY interested in this, as I want to do a z31 ecu when I do my swap this spring/summer, but i really would like to get the swap done and running quickly so that I could be on the road, so i was thinking of doing a completely stock swap and later going megasquirt of something. If you could produce this at a reasonable cost, I would get the intercooler and stuff that I originally wanted and do everything at once. I don't know what price range you are thinking, so I may not even be able to this, but if it is reasonable I would be your first customer. Thanks -will
  4. ahhh i didnt know it came out yet, ive had the logitech for a year now. I cant wait to get gt4.
  5. how much would you want for the turbo, fuel rail and headgasket
  6. the zx already has a sort of gnose. The front end definately extends further and lower and is shaped much like the gnose. See the similarity
  7. I didnt know the swastica's were that valuable. I just bought a zxt to pull the engine from for $300 and it has a pretty darn clean set of them on it. Do you think I could sell them for 500-600 and partially fund the engine swap.
  8. About the driving fast thing...Ive scared a few people in my car, not necessarily because of the speed, but because of the whole experience of my car. It's loud, it vibrates a lot, and the response is pretty sudden. Though I have gone for slight high speed runs alone in my car and occasionally get the car sideways in turns, I never really though of myself as an overly fast driver, and my thoughts were confirmed when I went for a ride in a friends 745li. First, let me say that the car rides amazingly smooth and silent, so to be scared in that car is an accomplishment. My friend had me white knuckled holding on to the door when he threw the huge car into turns and hit 138 in light traffic on a highway. I was honestly scared and am not sure if I'll go for another ride with this guy. There is a difference between driving fast, and driving scary.
  9. as much of a z nut as I am, I would have to go for the manta. It would seem that it has all the qualities of the Z, light weight, v8 possibility, great looks, but to a greater extent. I would say build a monster out of it.
  10. oh yea, mine is an 83. I think the panels are the same but you'd better find out for sure. The only thing that may be a little rusty is the front fender, everything else should be straight. My email is crvtt75@aol.com
  11. I have everything you need as i just bought a zx to take the engine out of. Some of the stuf is a little rusty, but nothing is too bad and I can at least give you some parts. IM me at zer0zg or call at 973 444 5719 to discuss pricing and how to ship if you are interested.
  12. yea, that clip was with it idling at 1100 rpm, now i have it down to 300-750 (depending on ambient temp) and it sounds MEAN, no one wants to race me...oh well.
  13. I have a straight pipe with a gutted muffler, so basiclly just a straight, its pretty loud as i have a cam among other things, but man it makes some nice noises. My favorite is decelerating from high rpm in a lowish gear, it makes a great sound. I have a clip of it revving here http://www.geocities.com/zer0zgtr/zerorev.mp3 I am about to do a turbo conversion, and am wondering what a 3in dump behind the front wheel would sound like
  14. my mistake, its tokyo xtreme racer 3, not zero
  15. I couldnt find any screenshots but I know that tokyo xtreme racer zero has every generation of z car in it, so that might be a good place to look.
  16. The engine is kinda built, its a l24 with high comp pistons, a mild port job, a cam, and is bored .1 over. Nothing much, but its kinda quick. I think I will be going L28et soon, but this was fun to have. As far as noise level standards, It probably doesn't but I went to a very shady shop to get it inspected, and it BARELY passed the idle emissions after lots of tinkering. They didnt seem to care about the noise. I really need a good su tune. I cant seem to get them right. If anyone in the northeast knows much about su's and wants to help, give me a shout.
  17. wow, all i need is a lip spoiler. What size are your mesh wheels, they look really good, If i could get ahold of a set i would run them in the rear.
  18. I sprayed my car with Satin Black Rustoleum. It's really cheap, and you can get the texture you want by changing how much it is thinned. I wanted a really thick, abraisive texture so I left it fairly thick so it would not smooth out so much. This paint is also really good at hiding imperfections in bodywork. Basically, I love it. Here are some pics. The slight unevenness of the texture is due to my lack of experience and painting in a dark garage.
  19. ford owns AM, so its probably a ford design.
  20. I love halloween and usually make a pretty cool costume. This year I decided I was gonna be frank the bunny from the movie donnie darko. I dont know how many of you have seen it, as its kind of a cult movie, but I think the costume came out pretty well. The bunny suit was mostly sewn by my girlfriends mom. The mask was by far the hardest part. I sculpted it out of clay and my girlfriend painted it and made the ears out of tinfoil. I really like this costume, as shown by the mask hanging on my wall. I may make a mold of it and sell lighter plastic or fiberglass copies on ebay, as lesser masks are selling for 200+ a piece. we'll see. Anyway, here are some pictures. and here are a couple of the actual costume from the movie for reference
