  1. Very interesting thread, my wife's family is from Cavite so I know a little about that place. My friend and fellow Z collector Rey tells me all the the time that he can get anything he needs made for him by a craftsman in the Phillipines. Tony, you got a great job that takes you to so many interesting places.

Sidenote Tony: I got another HKS flywheel available. You bought 2 from you a few years ago.

  2. Yes I want to drop it.

Do you have pictures before-after with ST spring? I don't know this brand "ST".

I look for shocks and springs.

I look for illumina from Tokico; and maybe Eibach as spring.

But I don't know if it is a good choice...

Tokico have a kit with Tokico HP and their spring "designed" for 280Z and give drop about .5" à 1.5". Is it good?

As you can see, I have many question about that.

    Jack,

The Suspension Techniques (ST) springs drop the car about 1.5 and still give it a nice ride. I put a set on my 78 over 15 years ago and they still work great. I like them because they did not cause a harsh ride. They are run with Tokico shocks.

As for the door panels; they are awesome and for a 76 and above car. Like I said they are most likely the last set of new original door panels left.

  3. I will ready my cars for overseas sales then. My experience here with Z people is that usually are very cheap and unwilling pay for things. My buddy is into VWs Bugs and he said that most SoCal Bugs that are in great shape end up in Europe. The dollar is losing strength.

Picked up this Nismo Fashion Lighter today off Yahoo Japan Auctions. Fun little lighter that looks like a kill switch. Since they discontinued them a few years ago, they are getting to be something thats hard to find. Snagged it new in box for 24.00. Not bad considering people are selling them for 125.00..

Wow I did not know they sold for so much. I got one given to me when I visited the NISMO facility in Kawasaki Japan several years ago. I put in my daugther's Sentra SE/R and have not seen it in years. I think it in the glove box. I will remove it and place it in a safer place since it is worth so much. Who knew?

  5. Yeah ! You have a spare 240z/260z shell sitting around ? J/K ! I can't wait to get rid of my Camaro so I can get started ! I should've thought of this a long time ago, then my Camaro would be sold by now and I would have one. Maybe I should try talking my dad out of his 260z !

This thread contains a Cali shell for you: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/97027-240z-shell/page__pid__911810#entry911810

    Not a hijack.

Love the project and more I see this RB 25 and 26 motor projects the more I want to do one. I had an RB20 in the ol Skyline when I lived in Japan and I loved the power of that motor, I can't imagine how powerful it is in your car.

  6. An interesting item from another board: "Good for you Adam.. a Datsun fan and multiple BRE Roadster owner

Report: Adam Carolla, Dan Neil to host Speed Channel pilot

Adam CarollaTop Gear USA just not doing it for you? Well, here's some potentially good news: Speed Channel has reportedly inked a deal with Mandt Bros. Productions to pilot a new automotive television series (currently untitled) hosted by Adam Carolla, Pulitzer-winning journalist Dan Neil, former NBA 'baller John Salley and Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire.

Consider our interest piqued by the cast alone. We've seen Carolla do his thing – including witnessing the taping of the un-aired pilot for the defunct NBC Top Gear project, which has nothing to do with the current iteration on History – and he definitely knows and loves cars.

Moving past the headline-generating Adam Carolla, we've long been fans of Dan Neil, and John Salley was rather good on The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Finally, Farah has carved out a nice niche and has garnered a fan base of his own on The Smoking Tire.

As far as the show's format goes, it sounds similar to the Top Gear model with "news and conversation centered around cars, as well as pre-recorded features shot on the road." It could be interesting, but we'll take our usual wait-and-see approach..."

Adam is a great Datsun man and I look forward to this show.
