I have a bit of a problem I am hoping the fabricators here can help me with. I have two 240 bodies, one of which the city has informed me needs to go. I have stripped the one car down to just a uni-body with a few brake lines. The car I plan to build has a great body, but needs floors and frame rails in the engine compartment. I have purchased floors, but am wondering about the engine compartment. I have read here that people fab the engine compartment frame rails back to the floor boards with 2x2 and 2x3 steel tube stock. But what of the radiator cross-member? Can this also be fabbed with new tube-stock? The rails and cross member in my soon to be gone parts car are in good shape. Should I try to cut them out before I get rid of it? It seems that it would be a real pain to cut them out, and if it is possible (and easier?) to fab all three sections, I would cut bait and get the donor outta here before the city returns to follow up on my non-op vehicle. Any ideas, opinions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Kevin
