Hey guys,
I have been waiting a long time for this post.
After scouring the Internet for almost a year, considering shipping from CA, AZ and beyond.
I have finally found "The One" in my own back yard (Boston/Quincy, MA).
For the record I have been on Craigslist every single day searching in a 250 mile radius for the perfect S30.
At 7:00pm on March 5th 2010 I bought her.
My 1973 Datsun 240z
More pics to come.
What a day.
-=XD=-
nice!!! congrats

Shouldn't be.
oh ok... thanks... no need to go back then

i just got back from a junk yard near by.. and i found 2 300zx turbos with the diff still on there. 1 is 84 and the other is 86... so those are not lsd diffs?
-
i have one but not sure if its the same... mine is from a 260z it was working when i pulled it out.
-
If i where you i would start fresh.. when i got my 260z i thought of doing the same thing... after my engine swap (L28ET) I regret not doing it... still havent done it but thats what um looking into now just tryin to see witch one. EZ, pianless, or Ron francis wiring...
-

my cousin had a 1981 280zx turbo and a 1974 260z with the 240z s u's... i bought the 280zx for $500 then after him losing a bet to me i got the 260z from him... scored!!! so then put that l28et into the 260z then added costum intake, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator big turbo and big throttle body intercooler and piping but i just started now i need suspension and interior. i only have these pictures need to up load more.

she looks beautiful!!!

i just started changing everything, till i got to the coil... another thing that sucks is that after so many times of turning the key i missed up the ignition... ha ha ha no biggie.
-
so after days and hours in the garage... i it started... it was the ignitor, but still dont know the reason why it didnt want to start if it did have spark??? well thanks guys for your help...
-
ok i tried it and it does the same-thing... wont start.
before i changed the harness i took my light test to check every wire on the 81 turbo harness and all my grounds were grounded all wiries seem ok (12 volts). except one... on the plug for the AFM their are four wires, three of them are together and one is to the left or right depending how your looking at the plug. that one is getting negative and positive at the same time.???
so i took out both of my harnesses (stock and turbo) and everything was ok. then i changed the 81 harness to the 83.
i spend hours on the forums trying to figure out how to wire 83 EFI harness and now it wont get spark and that same wire still has - and +
Now i went back a step... what do i do???
-
If they are to black (Fowled) it won't start either. Did you clean them or throw a new set in?
yes i threw some new ones on it... it still gets spark
-
souldnt it be at 35-45 psi??? well i checked my fuel return line and its seems to be ok... i turned the fuel down , but still wont start. could it be the wiring harness??? i have the 81 harness on their now that one with the dropping resistor...i just bought a 83 wiring harness on ebay and going to be changing it today...

since i did my turbo upgrade, i have a fuel pressure regulator with a gauge... it reads 50 psi.oil pressure is good and compression...
-
no luck guy's... I also checked the distributor, but that wasnt it...
i took out the spark plugs and they looked very black with alot of gas on the tip, but i also have alot of spark. ever since i cleaned up my wiring I got more spark...
-
i still cant get it started... when i took off the fuel rail with the injectors it sounded like it was going to start, but didnt fire up... does the computer have to stay on when i turn the key? i dont remember if it does.
-
yes.. i just took out the fuel rail with the injector and every single one is getting fuel... but it sounded like it wanted to start...?
-
well it looks like is not that... i even took out the whole turbo hardness out and check for cut wires.. but nothing. anything other suggestion?
-
hey guys, i been looking for thread that can help me but no luck... i have a l28et in my 260z... custom intake, fuel pressure regulator, upgraded turbo.... i took the engine apart to put new gaskets and to paint the engine bay... Put everthing back and start the car sounded beautiful... no problems... i turn up the boost to 10psi ran like a champ... drove it up on the driveway and turn off right when i put it N. NOW IT WONT START... I have a half tank of gas, lots of spark... computers is on. It turns over, but it just wont start:frown:

hey this is cisco. i have a used 81 turbo air flow meter and a beat up wireing hardness that i dont need. let me know if you are intrested?
-
thanks for the help pual and joe. i found out the problem. the wiring for my fuel pump was burning up and it would cause my fuel pump to turn off and on. have to fix 30 year old wires
-
i change the fuel hoses when i did the turbo upgrade. i adjusted the fuel pressure down to 40 lbs and i took it out for a ride and it wouldnt boost or go it just boggs out. i think the reason why is becuase the costom intake manifold and 90mm throttle body.
Odd noise while driving. Need some help.
