  1. My car is a Scarab sold by Ken Smith of MSA to Brian Morrow of Scarab in 1981. My paper work shows it being built with Scarab part # E4113 3.15 R200 ($800). They also offered a 3.15 LSD and a 3.36 ratio, LSD & open. Anyway, today I opened up that diff & couldn't make out the stamp so counted the teeth & ended up with 14 & 41 which is 2.9 by my math. (?)Anyway, since doing the 300ZXT LSD conversion with Ron Tyler's designed mount & Modernmotorsports adapters for the 280Z stub axles my revs are way too high at highway speeds, I'm running a Super T10 (W), special wide ratio (recommended by Scarab) they also offered the X,Y & U series. Fitting a TKO 600 transmission is looking harder & harder mostly due to the shifter location, so I may have to use the gears I just replaced. I like how much quicker I am but have to do better than 3000 RPM @ 60 MPH. So that's the long version of the even longer story. I appreciate any commments or advice.
  2. Thanks for the input. The good news is that the open R200 I replaced is 3.15. I would never been able to do the swap without the info on this board so thanks again to this forum & it's members.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get 3.15 gears for my R200 LSD? (out of 88 300ZXT). Or any taller than the 3.70 that I have. Can the gears from a non lsd be used? Thanks for any advice.
  4. Hi all. I'm looking at putting a Tremec 600 into my 73 Scarab now that my R200 LSD is in & RPMs are way up. Has anyone installed this gearbox with the Scarab setup? Any tunnel clearance or shifter issues? Tremec claims 3 different crossmember positions, what did you have to do? I am figuring a new crossmember &/or crossmember location will be required. I currently have a Super T-10 on a Scarab bellhousing with a Hurst Super Competition Plus shifter that positions the shifter perfectly. I saw one post saying the JTR conversion allowed better shifter location. The Tremecs have 8 different positions for the shifter. It looks to me like I will need the 2" offset to the left option. Thanks for any input.

  7. If gear oil says its for LSD's & meets GL-5 is LSD additive required? I have some Mobil 1 synthetic 75W-90 I will be putting into a R200 LSD. Thanks.
  8. Tom, thanks for your comments. When you say "rear mount" sway bar, is the bar specifically designed to be mounted like that or will any rear bar work. I am currently using a MSA that mounts to the body just behind the seats.
  9. I did, he said that it should would but I may have to play with the endlinks. I'm hopping someone can answer more definately, in their experience.
  10. Anyone using Arizona Z car billet diff brace, Can the sway bar be mounted to the rear (attached to the billet brace) if using CV axles? Thanks.
