  1. if you go to howstuffworks.com you'll find very usefull information there...
  2. oh yes Allen...i have a 75 280z...i also would think that the later z parts would fit, and in fact alot of parts do, but when i went back to the junkyard and took a closer look at the window regulator on the 77 it had more holes on the door that held the regulator in place...plus the inside of the door, after removing the door handles and all that stuff, had a slightly different design...it's kinda hard to explain it with words...you'd have to look really closely and compare. besides, how much would you guys think a pair of 280z tail light assembly would run for??? thanks for the reply...
  3. wow...hey thanks...almost went and bought a window regulator off of a 77...can you tell me what the differences are and why would it be different? isn't it the same door design?
  4. got my 75 z for $1000 finding after a complete tear down that there was barely any rust. just by the battery and behind the seat alittle. also got a 280zx turbo for $400.
  5. okay my fellow Z lovers...i need some questions answered. here in fresno there are only so many s30's that come by in the pick n pull junk yards and i'm in need of a better window regulator. can a 75 280z use any of the older or new s30 window regulator? are the regulators any different?
  6. sorry guys never mind...found my answer.
  7. okay guys...just got a new clutch. what would you guys recomend for break-in time before any punching should be allowed???
  8. if i put something like this TiAL wastegate onwhat will i have to do to install it? or is there one that may be designed for a stock turbo? sorry, i came from natural aspirated engines. turbos are a little new for me, i'm just familiar with the basics.
  9. well i'm missng this and it is a stock unit. that is the wastegate right??? is there any oem suppliers of these that anyone has used before???
  10. okay...i have an L28et without a wastegate on the turbo. what can i use in place of the stock one. maybe a wastegate from another car? i want to replace it with something that won't make me have a headache putting it on. what do you guys suggest?
  11. can anyone tell me why this guy is selling this beck arnley head gasket set for so cheap. don't these sets usually run for $60-$80? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-280z-280zx-cylinder-head-gasket-set-L28ET-L28E_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33553QQihZ015QQitemZ250176264475QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  12. so does anyone have a picture of both the na and turbo air flow sensor? or any tips on how to identify a turbo one from a na one.
  13. kastmaster...i'm actually in the clovis area too...maybe we could help each other with our swaps...but ne ways thanks for the answers guys...i guess i should start betting on ebay...
  14. thanks guys...anyother answers...
  15. okay guys...couldn't find the answer anywhere or i may have missed it. but i was wondering if i can use the nonturbo airflow meter on a turbo l28 swap into my s30. will there be any conflicts? maybe the plug wont fit or something in that matter...any answers are greatly appreaciate...
  16. just got my 75 280z for $1000. i think its a good deal. minor rust, some interior and just needs a battery. also getting a 280zxt for an extra $400. everythings works in the zx. what do you guys think. deal or no deal?
  17. yeah i came across some info like that too. i guess my best bet is to just get a whole turbo motor. so how many horses will a stock L28et have with 10-12 psi?
  18. man thanks for the tip. so if i understand right it should be a direct bolt on. which transmission and engine combo are you using? also which differential do you have or think is the best set up. would it be the r200 with 3.90
  19. hey thanks. that was the specifics that i wanted to know. so i guess if you take the n/a block and put dished pistons in with a p90 head it wouldn't be quite the same as the turbo engine right?
  20. thanks. is there anymore info about 5 speed swaps? maybe something that has something close to like a step by step process.
  21. ok. first of all i've been searching through this forum for hours and i don't know if i can read that much longer. i have lots of questions and since it seems that everyone is very friendly i'd like to know many things that pertain to the 280zx trannys. any leads on where i can find answers or any answers to my questions would be a great deal of help and will be appreciated. i hear that using the n/a 5-speed tranny from the 280zx gives better acceleration than the turbo one. is that true? so should i use the turbo or nonturbo tranny? i am planning to put the tranny on the l28et that's in my 280z chassis. also, will the trannys differ if i get it from a 2+2? when i swap in the 280zx tranny will it be a direct bolt in? will there have to be any alterations? can i use my stock driveshaft or would i have to use a 280zx driveshaft and does a 280zx driveshaft fit anyways? what clutch and flywheel should i shop for? most likely a turbo set right? so will the teeth on the clutch disc fit on the n/a tranny? sorry for so many question and thank you for dropping bye...
  22. sorry to ask but i've been reading alot of the postings in this forum which is very helpful but i do have questions, is there a difference in the f54 block that came in the nonturbo 280zx and the turbo 280zx, internally or externally? and if you had a non turbo zx motor and swapped the head to a p90 would you have the turbo engine setup? again sorry for asking i may have missed this point somewhere else in the forum.
