  1. Sorry for not posting any pictures,my cable internet has been down so I am stuck with 56k for awhile. Also the headgasket that we were using was a .030 over HG.As for the headbolts they line up perfect but on the intake side the holes need to be grinded to make a little bigger. And yes the pushrod and lifters are dead on aswell. The only thing is where the 302 has oil passages, the ls1 heads are going to just dump the oil into the valley, but there are plenty of holes for the oil to drain back into the block.
  2. Wait did he mean like as in the rear wheels turn aswell or did you mean is the rack and pinion on the front of the rear of the subframe?
  3. The intake is going to be a custom sheet metal intake with single runners up to a single plenum. And for the exhaust I am going to have run Ls1 headers,I am probably going to have to run block huggers to clear.
  4. Well I know that the Ls1's have 10.1:1 compression, but I am not sure how much it will have,As far as everything lining up it is dead on.The rockers are dead aswell as the water passages are spot on,It came when we bought the ls1 heads, and my friend has a 302 apart and we put the HG to the bottom of the head and EVERYTHING lines up,I just called Camotion and they said for a custom grind cam it's going to run 700.00.
  5. Ok well my project has started,it is quite a weird one. The car is a '89 Nissan 240sx,the bottom end is a 351w. The plans are 351w block, 400m crank,Forged rods(4.00" throw)Forged .030 over pistons to complete the bottom end. Now the heads are going to be Ls1 heads, Yes Ls1 heads. They fit on sbf blocks with a little work on the headbolt holes. The reason I am going for this instead of some after sbf aluminum heads is because I picked these up from a buddy of mine who went to aftermarket heads on his ls1 and sold me these for 75.00 dollars. The cam is going to have to be a custom grind because the valves on the ls1 heads are reversed from a Ford.We are making a custom sheet metal intake with individual runners to a single plenum. To help it breath I am going to use a stock Lightning TB which I am getting for free from a buddy who just upgraded to a BBK but the stock ones flow over 1000cfm. As far as the wiring goes I think I am going to run a early 302 speed density computer and harness and run a tweecer piggyback program for tuning issues. I will post some pictures as soon as the motor is in car.
  6. Yes 89-94(s13) and 95-98(s14) is rear steer.
  7. Yeah they are rear steer.
  8. I was going to ask you about carb or efi but after reading the post from the video I like that you did carb. Because I was worried about hood clearance issues if I was to run a carb,You said you used marquis mounts right which year or does it matter aslong as its a 302 model.Did you have to drop the subframe at all for clearance or should I be fine on that one.I was surprised when we measured the width of the motor mounts on the 302 and the s13 subframe that it was pretty close in width.
  9. Seems like alot of people have been doing this or thinking about it,I know i'm in the process of doing this, with just an 87 ho block,gt-40 heads,700cfm carb, Ford e-cam,lifters,1.6 rockers. Sorry not trying to threadjack. Just seams kind of dumb to do an sr20 swap to me,I know the sbf swap is a litte more involved but well worth it in the end.Yeah I was surprised to findout just how strong the stock rearends are in the s13. And I know where I live(tampa area) the ls1 swap in s-chassis has caught on real well. But one more question is how bad was it mount the trans up to the 240sx crossmember or did you have to do some fab on that aswell? Thanks for the info on the f-150,I havn't gotten that far yet, just finishing up the motor for now and prepping the car. Anyways goodluck man, hope to see some more pics soon.
  10. +1 on the gt40 heads, you can pick them up for a decent price, and then run either a e or f 303 cam with some nice hydraulic lifters.
  11. Are you running shortys or longtubes?
  12. Thanks man,I wasn't sure if the pans were interchangable or not,I know alot of the stuff is,I was pretty sure I was going to have make custom mounts. I looked for awhile to see if they made kits for 302's but couldn't find any,I know they make them for all gen rx-7's though. Ohwell time for some custom mounts.
  13. Ok first off my name is Mike im not really new to the import or domestic scene,I own a s13 240sx,and a 87 gt,the s13 has a blown motor and the mustang is wrecked in the back,so after thinking and doing some research to see if anyone has ever done this swap before I came to the conclusion that it might be a swap i'd like to try,and I know this is a Z board but it really is the only forum I found with v8 import hybrid cars. I know they sell mounts for the z chassis but I could not find mounts for the s chassis,I saw someone on here putting a 302 in an s12 and I know there pretty similar,so if anyone could give me any advice on maybe where I can get these mounts or if im going to have to make them, also not sure about the oil pan,I know the 302 is rear sump and the ka is front sump so i'm not about that maybe a 351w oilpan. If anyone has any advice please feel free to guide me in the right direction.
