  1. Okay so I see the guy that has the coilover page also has a rear end page...http://www.geocities.com/bry593/diffswap/diffswap.htm
  2. I've inherited front and rear suspension setups from a later model Z, but I wasn't told exactly what year. I have a '73 240z in desperate need of suspension overhaul and I was considering restoring the spare suspensions and swapping them into the '73. I plan on stripping/blasting the parts and having them painted or powdercoated then using all new bushings and soft parts. I like the idea of having a stronger rear end but I'm hesitant in swapping the entire section, I read somewhere on this board that a 280 strut assembly in a 240 will raise the rear end up some - please correct me if I'm wrong. I plan on doing the DIY coilovers shown here... http://www.geocities.com/bry593/coilover/coilover.htm I searched the forums and I'm pretty sure it's an R200 but I'm not 100% Can any of you Z gurus confirm? I did a quick "stare and compare" with what's in the car currently and it looks a bit different from the R180 in the '73. The mustache bars curl opposite directions - Thanks in advance -
  3. XCYTER mentioned an LT1 in an IROC, not an LS1. Although there have been a few guys that have done the LS1 into a 3rd gen swap. The early 4th gen camaros (93-97) that fell between the last IROC (1990) and first LS1 camaro (1998) had the LT1 option available. Nice job on the engine codes Twistit, I actually had an LG4 IROC - probably the worst powerplant ever put in an IROC.
  4. Glad to hear you're eager to start your project, just don't waste your time looking for an LT1 out of an IROC, you won't find one. The LT1 cars were the early 4th gen F-bodies (93-97). IROCs (3rd gen cars) were equipped with 5.0 or 5.7 TPI small blocks. Keep us posted!
  5. Hey rwwisnesky, off topic but...that is a damn fine engine compartment you got going there. You mind me asking what paint you used for that finish? Kudos on keeping it clean and tidy!
