  1. If I had to guess i would say the carbs. if they havent been rebuilt and or tuned correctly.
  2. Well i decided to get off my lazy A$$ and do something to the car yesterday, so i cleaned things up a bit. here are some pics of what the z looks like as of today... Thats my sweet seat. I couldn't afford the turbo yet so i got that instead.
  3. yeah i need to sell my camaro to get some cash but when i do i should have about a grand to get her on the road. but when we are all up n running we need to all go on a run somewhere crazy.
  4. Hmm i do have access to a fairly decent dash....Say i did want to sell mine... what would be a respectable reserve on ebay?
  5. haha yes the dash IS crack free, i think the only thing wrong with it is theres a tiny tear in one of the gage holes. its really dirty too i haven't tried cleaning it yet but it should look like new.
  6. yeah everything is coming out and getting polished painted and put back eventually.
  7. yeah and i got a free l28 from a 280zx with flat tops im gunna put in it =]
  8. theres a little bit on the floorboards but nothing to bad the worst section is like 6'' long and 2'' wide, and on the passanger side frame rail. also theres a bit around the front grill area, and the patch on the roof is just surface rust.
  9. yeah the body is straight except for the dent in the passenger door but i got another one on the way. None of the front end is bolted down in these pics so it does not sit flush.
  10. Hey everyone just wanted to introduce my Z i haven't really had any money to start building it but here it is! BTW i picked her up for $250 bucks! Lots of work to be done!
  11. Hey i guys i was wondering if anyone has a spare rim that looks like this, or if u can tell me where i might be able to find one. like what year and model the rim came off of thanks! i have 3/4 of them and need that last one.
  12. I have a L28 block without a head on it that i am planning on using in my 240. but when looking down on the top of the motor i can see where the old coolant has turned into a nasty orange rusty type sludge. i was wondering what the easiest way the flush that out of the block is? should i just turn it upside down and flush it using a hose or what? thanks in advance.
  13. Well, since i last posted this: i inspected most everything in the engine compartment. found out that the engine was rebuilt right before it was parked. the oil in it looks brand new the carbs are crystal clean, everything inside looks pretty much spotless. the outside is basically just as good just a lil dirty. i installed new K&N filters and have fuel filters and everything. i know now that the clutch master cylinder is bad (i got the pedal to move) i also have the throttle linkage working flawlessly. bought a new ignition coil, and belt. so basically all i need to do is brakes, gas tank, radiator flush, and clutch master/slave and it should be in a good running condition. starter is good and motor turns. Also there is only rust in the drivers side floorpan (inch wide about 4-5 inches long) and under the passenger side along the frame rail (about a 2x4 inch spot)
  14. Hey, I just purchased a 240z yesterday that has been sitting for 12 years. i was just wondering what should come first in trying to get this thing back on the road. the engine was rebuilt before they parked it. the interior is completely gutted except for dash and steering wheel (dash has no cracks). All the gauges and electrical seem to be hooked up properly except for the lighting. the brake pedal drops to the floor, throttle linkage is stuck, and clutch pedal is hard as a rock (doesnt budge at all). the tranny goes into all gears and the e-brake is working. windshield needs to be installed and so does the gas tank. which is full of rust, how do i get the rust out of it?
