  1. I did go to the junk yard, installed everything, and The Car Runs!!!!
  2. Hey , I bought the Summit 16gallong fuel cell w/ gm sender unit. They guy said it was basically just a two wire, ground/signal, sender that could be used on any car. Thing is, my 280z sender unit wiring has three wires. I'm assuming one is ground, one is signal....but what is the third and where should I put it. Thanks.
  3. Thanks, its too bad I tossed them then lol. I'll have to find a place that sells them.
  4. Just got the MSA injector kit (injectors, holders, large o-rings,small o-rings). I noticed that the holders don't actually "hold" the injector. Has anyone used these? Do you need to use the metal holder washer from the old ones? Thanks
  5. They arent starting production for about 8 months - which gives me time to restore. Its some drama set in '72. They were location scouting and just happened to see me working on my z , and asked if it was gonna be restored by then, and if they could use it in the movie - just in the background.
  6. There is definitely some gas getting in the case, however, definitely not 6liters - maybe 2 quarts - I'm not really sure where it could have gone. It isnt coming out the exhaust.
  7. Hey guys, you may have read my fuel regulator post. I think possibly its stuck injectors in cylinders 1 and 2. I lost 6 liters of fuel in 15 minutes of starting it. It didn't come out the exhaust, so it must have gone down the cylinders. I'm thinking this is stuck injectors in 1 and 2 - does that sound right? I got it started today by removing the 1 and 2 spark wires and plugging them back in quickly. I think it spark flashed and lit the flood lol. Any ideas?
  8. Hey Flash, Don't have pictures - in the middle of restoration. Its sterling silver w/ original mag. minilites. Really want to eliminate the rear bumper and fill the holes, and put an air dam on. The bre does look totally old school. Thats definitely a possibility. Thanks
  9. Hey, I multimetered the injector plugs while turning it over. It only showed .1 volt pulsations. I am sure that isnt enough to start them right. And the negative pulse was -.1v pulsations.
  10. Wasn't the battery or the temp sensor. Is there a way to see if the injectors are firing? Like I said, the only way it starts is if I put the fuel in the cylinders, or if I blow into the fuel rail w/ a compressor while starting the car. It only runs then for seconds. This car was running perfect a few days ago. Also, as an aside, my fuel in my tank has turned red, and is burning brown.
  11. The tail lights and markers aren't a problem. I'm replacing the grill with the 240 grill just to even the space w/ the new bumper. The only thing I was worried about is the air dam. I was going to do the Xenon w/ ducts, but I know that wasn't available haha. Do you know if the BRE w/ ducts was available in the 70's? Thanks
  12. Hey guys, They are going to be filming a movie near me and want to use my datsun - however, the movie is set in '72, and mine is a '76. I was already planning on swapping my bumpers for the 240's, but really want to add a front air dam. Does anyone know what dam was available in '72?
  13. i'll drop a battery with more juice in it today and see what happens
  14. Thanks guys. I've actully got another pressure regulator I'm gonna drop in. I've also got another coolant sensor I could put in as well. I checked the amperage on the batt, as well as firing order and all that. Battery was 8.8 cranking, so I think thats close enough to 9 to start it. Firing order was on. I'll put those two pieces in this week and see if anything budges. I just thought it was strange that when I doubled the fuel pressure, the car ran fine. Thats why I thought it may be a broken regulator or whatnot - but jasper, I will def. put the temp sensor in and see if the cold start was the problem. thanks
