  1. Ok thanks. So it is 100% not needed for anything after the swap? I just need to be absolutely sure because if so I'm about to sell it
  2. Doing a v8 swap into a 79 280zx, it will be carbeurated. Will it still need the computer under the passenger seat for any of the electrical systems like windows or dash?
  3. I was wondering if it can be done easily, as far as I know the only main difference is that the '83 tank is somehow set up to use the digital dash and my '79 has the regular dash. I can't find any nearby for my year but I found an '83 tank in perfect condition. Also I'm doing a v8 conversion if that affects anything, thanks
  4. I'm doing a v8 swap on my 79 280zx and was going to put in an automatic transmission but now I'm considering a manual 5 speed. The car was originally automatic, just how much modification am I looking at for a manual, is it even worth it? I may just end up putting in the auto, only reason I'm considering a 5 speed is I drove my friends old honda stickshift for the first time and loved it!
  5. This is my first time here so hopefully this is a good section to post this, I'm doing a v8 conversion on my 79 280zx, the final product should have something close to 300 hp, maybe a little less. My mechanic said I should think about putting in a solid rear axle if it were going to have more horse power but the independent rear suspension should be okay for this build, I was wondering what other people have done in this situation? I want to leave the IRS in there because I know a new differential would need a lot of modification, are there any good ways to strengthen the irs so I won't have problems down the line?
