^^^ In my case the ,rotor issue was detected as the problem for the erratic vibration. On the rotation was ADVICE to extend the intervals and have it rebalance with same method, yes a bit more $ but that is part of the joys in owning GT type cars.FWIW
Prices are on the rise, see what they are commanding on EBay and BAT, a few day ago a 240 with lots of fixing needs SOLD for 5K$ on BAT, same car two summers ago was like 1,500.00$. Grab them now, they are true J tin collector's.
I had a similar issue not with my Z but on my new Mustang, after a wheel set swap one rotor got worped due to over torque when installed, had to replace the rotor and problem solved.
I know that my Z benefited from your LS built, David the PO was an attentive pupil then and I now enjoy this sexy beast . Wow how time flies , but shows that when done proper from the get go the results are rewarding.
^^^My comment is not to offend, I take that it is a long journey to do a proper conversion, but how many times we see topics like this that end empty. I was very fortunate to find my Z, yes I did not built it but I do the upkeep since my wrenching knowhow is limited. I do admire the builders on the site but feel less incline to empty converses.
I get so emotional that is like I'm getting a new car again, I walk around it during the warm up after the vital inspection. Go straight to the closest Sunoco gas pump and fill up with high octane gas.At the pump I do another admiration walk. Then I plan a long ride back home, in witch I listen to any none familiar noises from my memory bank , also pay attention to break and steering function. Then at home do a complete wash/wax, plus do another admire walk around. Can not wait till end of March to her out. FWIW.
When it was listed back in October 2014 , the private seller on EBay did mention the suspension work done . At least the price tag when it exchanged owners(flipper) was in the high 20's. My concern if I was a buyer is the fact that it only has less than 200 miles on that set up, I think that a transplanted/conversion car with more DRIVEN miles on it will be more attractive to a potential buyer, knowing that bugs have been work out is a plus . FWIW.
Go with what you want, but I am bias and will tell you that a Z is a canvas . A perfect canvas for a restomod, but don't CUT corners , it ills me to see a butcher Z. FWIW.
The bullet type mirrors looks good on them, they were very popular back in the day .I have them on my Z, visibility is a tad off. Look at the flag type ones that were use on the British Z, they are still available in MG and classic Mini catalogs. FWIW.
Yesterday 3/9 after real bad snow days it was clear with 50 degree plus sunny ,I pay a visit to my beast, crank at first try . Can't wait to get her out, that day is just around the corner.
