So i bought this 77 280z thinking it would be an easy fix. The tranny was out, needs a new clutch and starter along with the breaks bled. So the guy claims. Get it home and find out its a bit more than just that. I know i know.. I was stupid and should have looked in the first place, But there is a bit of rust. i got pictures of most of it but then i got kinda mad at myself and stopped lookin until recently. The bottom part of the hatch is also rusted out (kinda) It really just looks like poop....ANYWHO i guess what im really asking is does anyone know what it might cost to get the rust repaired by a shop? im a stupid punk kind and don't have a welder to do so myself. Also i forgot to mention that the floor pans were replaced by the dude i bought the car from and they look good and solid. Only thing is, he sprayed really aggressive bed liner on them so they wont rust..So if anyone know a way i can take that off that would be much appreciated too..Thanks for readin my rambling.

My main thing that I'm really worried about is the rust. Want as little as possible (duh everyone does) Also would be greatly appreciated if it can drive, want my first car to actually get me from point A to B. Let me know what y'all got.

Hi, I am wanting to get a '75 or older Datsun z car as a first car, but me being the punk teenager that i am i want to swap a Ford 302 in it. Was wondering how difficult the whole process would be. I figure that i will need to get a new wire harness, engine mounts. and tranny (don't know what one. some any input on that would be nice). I plan on buying a crate engine just to save some time with the whole process. Also i was wondering for those who have done this before, what exhaust did you use? And how big of a difference did it make to the mpg? I cant think of anything else to ask right now.. But if i missed something that i should keep in mind when doing this swap please let me know. Thank you

Hey, im wondering if any of you know about how much it would cost (in the worst case) to restore a 240/260z minus all the electrical things and the engine. so just the shell i guess.
