so i think i fixed it. two cables that weren't supposed to be touching were touching on the starter. i guess i'll just have to wait and see on my next drive.
-
i'm debating whether to install new floor boards or to just buy a shell and transfer the block and tranny. i wasn't going to GV but smoky. finally finished up back in may or something. so glad to be done with that. now goin to pickens.
-
any suggestions? preferably in Denver.
-
kool, i'll do that tomorrow if time permits.

so i'm driving my 240z around and suddenly i hear this scraping noise. pull off the road find out the starter is trying to start the car even when its started and running. thank god i have a battery kill switch! figured it was some sort of short circuit after it still tried to start the car when the keys aren't even in it. so to attempt a quick fix to get it home i pulled all fuses except common and stop light. worked and got it home. now i need to know, what the fudge. can anyone recommend someone good with car wiring? i can't do it to save my life.

i've been trying to sell myne. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/829583629.html and i can always drive it there to you.
-
i have running 240z i'm trying to sell.

i always thought that the fd engine bays were actually spacious enough. all that plastic seemed to direct air to where it needed to go better. but maybe i was mistaken. I know when i see the engine it seems to only take up about half of the engine space provided.

Does anyone know where i can get this kit?
Zanity replied to drwharton85's topic in Body Kits & Paint
speaking of that kit, i want that one too. but i was wondering if anyone knows of if anyone makes the msa type III with a urethane? did search some but found nothing. about to go look for other z kits that are urethane. -
hm, thats good to know. i'm pretty sure i'll be abusing my car some if i get a rotary. i was actually just planning on getting the 3 rotor from a eunos cosmo. or from a site like this http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/
-
haha, yeah. i'll put some up.

i have two rear hatch louvers but they are not for my car. i have a 73 240z. is there anyways to tell what car these actually are for? i want to sell them but it would probably help if i knew what kind of car its for.
-
The shift key works fine its just my keyboard is rubber so sometimes I won't hit it right or it won't go down all the way. Basically I just stopped using. How would I check it myself. I highly doubt the last person installed adjustable control arms but I'll try and put up a picture anyways.
-
its a 73. they don't? well when i had it tested for alignmment they said it was very badly pidgeon toed in the rear tires. but they couldn't adjust it because the tie rods were rusted too bad. what is used to adjust that then?
-
so i got some new rear tires and decided to get a check up too. basically i really need rear tie rod assemblies. i've looked around for prices and stuff but haven't really found that much. any advice? other than that it all passed pretty good. also i have two rear hatch louvers that are obviously not for my car. how might i tell what car they are for so i can sell them.

yeah, when i'm ready to i plan on getting that.

yeah, i know all the downsides of rotary engines but i also know all the upsides. a 20b would not be cheaper, i hope to build a 20b or a 26b engine in my future as well. i just would like to be able my two favorite things in all cars...a Z and a rotary engine. so the headache would be worth it.
-
so i was looking at some prices for the rb26 and sr20 engines and then i would look at the 13b twin turbo rotary engines and i can't help but realize...they are so much cheaper than the sr20s or the rb26s. so i'm thinking, what kinds of things would need to be done do to make a 13b twin turbo or maybe a 20b? transferable to a 1973 240z? i'm thinking with the money i can save getting the rotary engine, i can pay for the mods necessary. just a thought for the future. when i know enough to actually do this i'll be sure to let you all know and updated but it may be a year or two.
-
yeah, rotary engines have a distinct sound. the 20b is a sick engine. the 4 rotor engine you're talking about is the 26b. i've never been in the presence of a 20b or 26b. i imagine the first time i will be it will be mine. the z engines are still amazing though. after i get myne restored perfectly. i think i might do a rotary engine.

so, i took it home. drove very carefully and engine braked instead of using brakes. took it all apart and everything. found out that there's no hardware. the wheel cylinder on the left side is destroyed. the cylinder on the right is ok. just lost the gear thingy (piston) that goes on it. i have spares of both, but have no clue how to get them off the old brake set up and how to put it on the new one. any clues?

i DD a 1987 integra right now, and i hate it. I just got my 240z a little bit ago am constantly trying to get it in DD condition. I think it really just matters on what kind of person you are. Cruise control and all those other features are nice, never once used cruise control in my life, but in my opinion a car needs to be a car. i don't see my integra as a car but more like a temp P.O.S. When i can DD my Z i will never drive my integra again. love your car because its a car, not a grocery shopping machine. but thats just me.

so, i'm an idiot. i'm driving my car, since its finally legal now, but my stupid self forgets that i have no rear shoes! so we're driving and everything is fine, but due to light i have to hit my brakes pretty hard. clump, schreech. now something is broken somewhere. the car still drives but makes horrible grinding noises and screeching sounds. so we just parked it in a parking lot and left it there since i still have to go work. any ideas on what's wrong or what it is i messed up? 1973 240z with drum brakes in rear.

i'm sure i should have searched more thoroughly but i couldn't find any threads in regards to this. where is a reliable place to find gauges? after market or stock. either one works. specifically i need a tach. but if i replace one i think i'd want to do them all. thanks.

This reminds me of an ebay incident i had. Except i was on the seller side. I sold a psp to someone in chile. When he got it he said the screen was cracked and immediately got all mad and filed a complaint and stuff. I talked to him and said it was properly packed and there was no reason for it to break but thankfully he did pay for shipping insurance. So we filed it on our side and he was supposed to too but never did. And its been half a year and never heard anything from him again. But scary as he almost took back all the money and got a free psp. I'm just glad paypal decided we were right and he needed to help work it out instead of get mad. Not sure what this has anything to do with this thread but i guess the point i'm trying to make is seller or buyer, be careful not to get screwed. Hope you get your refund or he gets some bad Karma.
