  1. Im removing the fuel pump in my 78 280z. Ive removed all the fuel lines and loosened the clamps. The FSM says to disconnect the fuel pump harness connector. It says to roll back carpet behind the seat (which i did) and to disconnect the wiring. How do you do this? I see two different sets of wires. Im guessing one set to + and one to -. But how do i disconnect them?? Thank you

    usually behind the passenger seat there is 2 wires one is black and

    the other one green each one has a connector that goes to the fuel pump

    just unplugg those two and you are done....

  2. No is not working yet the fuel filter is new,all the injectors are working.

    also the throttle valve switch is new,i really can't figure out these problem

    these time. i usually fix the cars my self even know im not a mechanic,

    but im pretty sure is something electrical i guess my z has to visit a real

    mechanic thanks for the help anyway.:lol:

  3. Ok i am looking for help or any ideas,abouth my problem, i was driving my car a couple of days ago and it died on my i tried to start the car back but it won't start like it ran out of gas,but the gas tank was almost full.

    i call the tow truck they got the car home,after a while it started but

    it was shaking and when you accelerate it was misfiring,it died again and

    whenever you try to restart the car the battery will sound like it is discharged but when you let the car rest for a couple of hours it will start again but doing the same thing .shaking,misfiring and it will die so far these are the parts i have replaced, i forgot is a 1977 280z fi.

    1.fuel pump

    2.air flow meter

    3.the distribuitor rotor

    any ideas would help thanks.....:hs:

Actually the only thing i replaced was the fuel pump the electric one for a mecanical one, today was the first day for my car with the weber carburatorsat the begining they work ok ,the spark plugs were alittle black but they were not wet i haven't check the spark the car cranks the starter two i also put some gas and starter fluid in the carburators but it won't start i guess i have to check the coil and the spark on the spark plugs also the ignitor is new.
