  1. OK I got the door panel pulled away. I can push down on the paddle section of the latch (the area of the latch that the external handle rod goes through) and nothing. I compared it o the right door rods and they look the same. I also acuated the internal handle and still no bind, full movment. I then removed the door lock, just to take it out of the picture and still no "click and open" It seems to be internal of the latch system.

  2. Well I figured out what my problem was. Apparently the dizzy was rebuilt some time in its past 180 degrees out. So I removed the roll pin at the bottom of the dizzy and rotated the offset shaft 180 degrees. Put it back together and she cranked with no problem. Thanks for every ones input.

    Cheers

  3. I just swapped my dizzy out of my '77 to a 80 dizzy as discibed by here http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/index.html by BLUE. All the connections are correct. My problem is that when I tried to crank it for the first time , "BANG" out of the tailpipe. So I thought my timing was off some so I rotated the dizzy in both directions and nothing. I also loosened the other mount on the dizzy (the inverted bolt) and the same results. What am I missing? There is spark. And it seems like it's late. If I was to remove and reinstall the spak plug wire clockwise or counter clockwise can that help me out? I don't know which way to go or if there someting else I can do ? I don't see how I can be off of timing that much. I can't see how the dizzy can be installed wrong since the shaft is off set. Also the coil is an Accel one that ran fine with the old setup and ballast resistor.

    Any help would be great.

  4. I'm in the process of doing the swap in my '77 to a 80 dizzy as discribed here. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/index.html . Well I would like to pass on the part # for the support and other hardware. I had a major hard time tracking these down. The Nissan dealer her in Goldsboro NC,told me I had to buy the whole dizzy.......NOT!!!!!

  5. Hi all, I know that this is not the wanted section but I thought I'll might get a response here. I have a '77 280 I finishing up on that has aluminum rear hatch louvers. But I don't have any attaching hardware. The louvers are made by Hammond. I have been unable to find I a phone # and the e-mail is a dead link. Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers

  6. I have them. At first I just put them in stock, no rewire. They weren't as bright as they should have been. Checked voltage, it was really low so I wired in a a couple of relays and got fused power from the battery. My P lights are on when the lights are on though, just light stock.

Thanks for the input. I'm rewiring mine now. New 12 gauge wire along with relays. This weekend I'll have my new side mirrors too. I'll wire those to work with the turn signal. I'll load pic when I'm done.

  7. I'm going to be doing this upgrade soon, and I have 2 questions. 1. with the ballast resistor removed is there any thing I have to consisder when getting a new coil? Also when I got the dizzy for my car I was unable to retreive the offset dizzy mount. does anyone have one laying around not being used? I'll be more than happy to pay for it. Thanks

  8. those of you that have these headlights wired in there Z, did you just wire the parking light to stay on ALL the time even with the headlights? or did you wire to turn off with the headlights on. I'm thinking that small parking light is not visible with the headlights on. I could be wrong. I'm getting a feel of what I'm going to do with mine.

    Cheers
