  1. They did have some massive tires on them. I found it interesting that the african car and the monte carlo car had very different suspension characteristics. I know the tires and wheels make a HUGE difference, but I also need the space for those tires and wheels to travel. Btw I'm fairly sure at least one of the rally cars was running custom springs and Koni gas shocks.
  2. I've owned my 240Z for a little bit now and have been saving up my money while looking for inspiration on which direction to take the project. After seeing the antique 240Z rally cars I've been inspired to make a street-able version of one. The problem I'm running into is mainly chassis/suspension, I can't find any suspension kits that raise the car or at least don't lower it. Any suggestions?
  3. Ok, so I'm currently in the process of restoring and modding my '72 datsun. I noticed some of the tail light harness was disconnected by the previous owner, I hooked it all back up and now my tail lights AND my dash lights won't work. My brake lights and turn signals all work fine, just the running lights don't come on and my dash lights. It's the stock harness, it seems to be poping fuses left and right. I have no idea where to start, is this a common problem and if so does anyone know where to look first?
  4. I actually did do a search but got conflicting answers and ideas. I know EFI with an after market EFI setup would probably be easier, but I'm old school all the way. Any particular model of tripple mikuni I should get? I'm also guessing that I'll have to have most of the parts custom fabricated, like the manifolds and such. All of my searches on the interwebs have turned up no companies that actually sell a carb'd turbo L28 setup.
  5. I'm planning a performance build up of my 240Z. I already have an F54 block and I'm looking for a P90A head. My question is, is it possible to setup a turbo L28 with a carburetter induction system instead of EFI? I personally hate EFI and have heard horror stories regarding the L28 EFI system. I know it's been done before, but I don't know how feasible it is.
  6. Thanks for all the info, I was afraid to take it past 4k when I first got it. My other vehicle is an 80's toyota truck and it will explode if I rev it past 6k lol. I noticed that these engines tend to wind out pretty well and don't pull that hard in the lower RPMs. I'm used to truck engines like I said so I'm not used to winding it out that much haha
  7. Hey I just recently purchased a '72 240Z. It has had some work done to it, like a rebuilt top end, electronic distributer, and DGV Redline carburettors. My question is, what is the maximum SAFE RPM I can rev it to? I know it yellow lines at 6k and redlines at 7k. Just wondering, I really don't want to blow it up, the whole lack of rev limiter thing scares me.
