  1. Mike is definitely buying it, I just havent told him what shipping will be to JDM land.
  2. Purchased this new from http://www.vildinimotorsport.com/ I'm going a different direction with my project and no longer have a use for it (never used never mounted). IIRC I paid $275 for it, I'll take $200 shipped to the lower 48 states.
  3. I'll comment on how long I think it'll last when I'm fully awake and can create a logical thought. As for working the track/etc I can say up in Canada that's NEVER a problem, guys will toss out a yellow flag and drive out with a few people and brooms to clean up off track excursions, people frequently help each other out with setup/mechanicals, etc. *shrug*
  4. Couldn't you just use a single ABS ring with a sensor, feed it to the Dakota Digital encoder and then output to the speedo?
  5. Yeah, hammered some cheap sockets on 3 out of 4 and went to town with my IR impact. The 4th had to be cut off.
  6. Congrats! I can't wait for more videos.
  7. Wow, that interior sure cleaned up nice!
  8. '71 240z: LF: 271 RF: 271 LR: 404 RR: 392 Total: 1338 F/R: 40.5%/59.5% This is with no engine, no floors, no transmission, no driveshaft, no interior, w/fuel tank, full suspension, steering, brakes, metal rear bumper, all lights, ZG Flares, IMSA 3 Piece wing, full glass, all metal bodywork. I believe my shell is extremely clean and contains no bondo except for on the hatch (if you care about how much bondo weighs). However, I thought it would be good reference material.
  9. Spent most of the day in the garage, lots of progress however it doesn't look like it, heh. Most of the firewall and trans tunnel have been taken down to bare metal (or close to it) with sand paper or a wire wheel. All of the insulation is gone. Most of the areas that will need to be clean for welding the floors in have been prepped as well. I've got a few more hours to spend on it, especially behind the pedals but it's coming along nicely. Worked on the spare tire area and hatch are a bunch. Cleaned up some rust and removed a few bits of destroyed sound proofing. Primed the well and then used rubberized undercoating on it. It had a bit of rot just in the 1/4" or so around the drain grommet. Sorry I forgot to take in progress pics, it's still drying in the last photo. Also rolled the car up onto my scales, weights as follows: LF: 271 RF: 271 LR: 404 RR: 392 Total: 1338 F/R: 40.5%/59.5% This is with no engine, no floors, no transmission, no driveshaft, no interior, w/fuel tank, full suspension, steering, brakes, metal rear bumper, all lights, ZG Flares, IMSA 3 Piece wing, full glass, all metal bodywork. I believe my shell is extremely clean and contains no bondo except for on the hatch (if you care about how much bondo weighs)
  10. Trimming away more of that fat.... err rust and sound deadening. That's about 2/3's of what I removed today. Weighs somewhere around 25lbs. Where I left it tonight, back was killing me from being hunched inside the car for a few hours. Trimmed the passenger's side all the way down, no more rust over there. The driver's side under floorboard support was in great shape, so it stayed (though slightly cut off at the rearward section. I also left the seat support in, although it wont be there I needed a bit of structure left in the car for moving it. I have a bit more to do on the driver's side and the entire firewall and inner rockers needs to be stripped still. I have the trans tunnel mostly done though it still needs a chemical bath.
  11. Knocked out a few hours on the car tonight, there is about 25 pounds of metal/rust and sound deadening under the car. Spent a ton of time with a mask, gloves, scraper and propane torch working on removing the interior tar, but I had to use a heat gun in some slightly tighter/more sensitive areas for safety's sake. (I know, me using caution, hard to believe.) Working around the pedal set on the trans tunnel. Some floor rust on the driver's side which has separated the floor from the rear frame rail extension. I've gone under and looked above and the frame rail extension under the floor board is in mint shape despite the passenger's side one being all banged up (not that it matters as I'm putting bad dog replacement/subframe connectors in). Progress. If all goes well I'll be at PT (turbojettaMKIV)'s house first weekend in december so he can weld in the floors, subframe connectors and the small flush bits on the firewall and the rear 1/4 panel/liners. Then some POR15 work and the interior goes back together while I start on wiring
  12. Austin, fantastic to hear it running. I'm really quite jealous!
