  1. Haha! That house and idea behind it is awesome.
  2. Alright, who took my turbo engine from the Monrovia Pick-A-Part I was eying last week? Went back to see if it was still there and the engine+tranny were gone. Still grabbed the door pannels and a few other pieces that were in really good condition so I was happy. Paid $20 for both door panels that only needed to be cleaned off. They look like they came out of the factory the day before now.
  3. Why does everyone skip over the 280zx owners?
  4. Really? That's actually pretty funny. I figure the cat might need to be replaced, although the emissions problem could be a lot of things from what I've read. Going in for a smog test this weekend or the next most likely. Once I get the results I can delve further into the problem on these forums. Thanks, but unfortunately, the closest I'll probably be getting to the Bay Area is this summer when I move it up to southern Fresno area to a garage with a welding set, tools, and the whole shabang to start looking closer at it. Actually, now that I think about it, I have family up in Grassvalley that drive nothing but Z's that I'd like to visit, so we'll wait and see what the future has in store.
  5. Well, the sensor warning light is on so first step is going to be checking the all the sensors, most likely keeping an eye on those oxygen sensors, and probably replacing them. I'll probably post any questions when I actually start working on the car. Two more weeks until summer intermission so I can't wait to get started. Most of the common problems with the actual engine didn't show any symptoms when I started it from cold and drove around for about 15-20 mins. The fuel injectors might be leaking or the lines themselves are bad. Definitely going to the fuel injector problem as a priority before I start using it as a daily. Everything looks like a stock N/A '81 280zx, so it's probably all original parts, but the damn thing starts on the fly and idles perfectly. After that, I'll probably start fixing odds and ends stuff; new tires, new seats, etc when I have extra cash. The car is in really good shape, I was surprised when I saw it at the yard being driven out to it's imminent death. Hope to bug you all soon with any problems I can't find through searches.
  6. First post, but figured I'd throw up a quick pic of my summer project S130. http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7986/81280zxmy8.jpg Saved it from retirement in a wrecking yard, only problems I have found/know about so far is that it won't pass California smog tests as of now and for the price I couldn't pass it up.
