Hey guys, I'm new here and basically we had a 280z laying around for a while and after nobody buying it I decided I wanted to look into doing a build. Ive look at a bunch of different engine swaps like the 2jz, rb, etc. but my favorite is the VG30DETT. Has anyone else attempted this and had any success? Failures? What problems should I expect? I know its a broad topic, but I am new to cars, trying to learn so if you're just going to insult my lack of knowledge please remember thats why I am here… I've been reading up a bit and it looks like the S30 is good for about 400hp before much worry. Would I be better off using a VG30DET or TT? Would I need to change the rear end? Looking to get right around 400hp out of this when all is said and done. Thanks for your help.
