I noticed on the Pegasus Racing mirrors (single pole dual ball joint style) they all have set screws on the ball joints, which I would assume keep things tightened up. Anyone tried them yet? For the color scheme and overall look I am going for on my car, the carbon fiber shell single stalk mirrors would work well IMO. Hoping someone else has dished out 250 buxors and can give feed back first

The 99-02 Camaro pumps are internally regulated. All you need to do is run a filter then tee it off back to the return port and that is where the regulation comes from. Then a single line to the fuel rails. This is what I have read and am planning on using.

I am assuming you are talking about the VG30DETT setups he has? Would probably find more info on the other 300ZX sites. I had purchased a lot from Kyle when I had my Z32, but that was many years ago.

Good work up there! I am glad to see there are a few people that wish to maintain a spare tire
-
Yep, took it for a test drive down to the gas station to fill it up and check for leaks. All's good! The pump is SOOO much quieter than the external!
Just what I wanted to hear (pun intended). Great work!
Chris, I have read his stuff over the years, lots of good info for sure.

Looks awesome! I wish my building was farther along and I had more notes to pass on to others, but I am glad to see it work for you. Have you gotten it running with that setup yet?

Stupid auto correct.... Doesn't like rivnut. I meant rivnut. Rivets are a bad idea imo. And do the look nearly as nice as a SS bolt once finished.
-
There was a thread on a good rivet gun down in the fabric area, lots of good ideas in there about where to buy and such. As far as bolts, my local Fastenal was actually very helpful and cheap as he'll to buy large quantities. A box of 100 M6x25mm only cost me like 8 buxors.
-
I plan on using Rivnuts to do mine, just like Hoke. Seems like the most proper way to do it in my opinion. On the front fenders nuts would work fine I am sure.
Edit... what that guy said lol.

The ones in that link are good files as well. I opened up last night with no issue.

Thanks Ryan! You are a time/life saver.

I am hoping someone can post some accurate dimensions. I plan on drawing it up and utilizing a friend who purchased a cnc plasma cutter. I may be able to dig up the dash and parts to measure.
-
I have used their dual voltage system, but work with an old oven and a bunch of jigs and stands we welded up for hanging the parts. The gun works good, just have to watch your trigger squeeze, just like a paint gun. No info on the IR light, but if you go that way, please post up.

What are your cruising RPMS with the 4l60e and 3.54?

RIP John. Such a tragic loss.

Congrats on the kiddo! Always a tiring, frustrating, wonderful time. The car isn't going anywhere, enjoy the bundle of joy.

I did the EZ wiring kit on my car. One thing that was suggested to me that I'm glad I listened to was to get one with more circuits than you think you need- that way you have some extra circuits to wire things in with that you forgot about, and also for later use if you decide to put a stereo in or something like that. Definitely get yourself a nice crimping tool for non-insulated terminals, a good assortment of non-insulate blade terminals and an assortment of non-insulated ring terminals, an assortment of grommets, a good amount of heat shrink tubing, some corrugated plastic wiring tubing (I bought this at the hardware store), lots of electrical tape, lots of the non-adhesive cloth tape for wrapping up your wiring, and a bunch of variously sized zip ties. All of these things really come in handy and it's better to have it to begin with than to get it piece by piece as you're doing it. You're also going to want to have a good soldering iron and solder on hand, as well as a multimeter that has a continuity (or OHM) setting. The most difficult part of this wiring is the combination switches, and mine were all worn out so I just got a universal turn signal lever/switch and that made life a lot easier. Since you already have a V8 in the car your wiring will be a bit easier, as they are basically designed for v8's. Give yourself quite a bit of time to do this, it takes forever and is very tedious and your back, brain, and arms will be sore from all the different positions you're going to be trying to feed wiring the right way and what not. That being said though the EZ wire kit is actually pretty nice, the wiring is good quality, the box itself is nice, and there is plenty of length on almost all the wires to work in our little cars.
Any more information on the combination switch? Pics, part numbers, etc

^ seems uncaring PO's the world over use those staples of hackery to destroy the hopes and dreams of new Z owners with aspirations of a "quick build". I will also be using the EZ kit, thanks for all the tips gents.

When I did powdercoating back in the day, most of the colors are a RAL# setup, I have never seen it by paint code, just by hue and such. Seems there would be a ton of factors involved getting the same color as paint. A lot of trial and error since it needs to cure to get the wanted color. If you find something, please post it up!

Sounds great! Thanks for the motivation!

Looking good! Are you going to modify the water pump neck? I am also going to use the truck stuff with my setup, but will move the water neck. Moroso makes a 1.25" threaded water neck is what I plan to use. Keep up the good work!

Well thank you. I will be ordering them very soon so I can cut my fenders up

Ok, got my deletes in today. Nice item, well put together and easy to install (from what I can tell, I am working with a completely torn apart car). They will fit the 240Z, but you will have to drill a 3rd hole in front of the 2 existing holes. Maybe one of the others that got in on the buy will have a put together car to get some pics and such for you guys,

Got an email from Rock Auto about closeout stuff for my 71 240Z, mostly oem style stuff. Hopefully this helps someone.
