What' up. I've changed My Turbo injector for a rebuild n/a one. Still dont run. I've looked the spark plugs and no 1+2 are wet.(those have some''aftermarket''injectors.If i disconect there injector connector ,It does not changed the engine idle...still run like ♥♥♥♥...but at the same lvl of ♥♥♥♥. SO those cyl. Dont work...in fact he run in 3 cyl.the 3 with stock injectors(green tops).

In facts,I dont really care about ''how long they will be okay'' because the frame near the engine is busted,I can remove some piece of it with my Pinki. So right now i just wanna see if the engine CAN run well,if its really the injectors. In the middle of the next year i will may change of ride (a older one ) so i dont want to spend 3k$ on it if its not the injectors.So if with the cheap injector in he runs well,My plans will be to buy a older Z next year (with a clean frame.........)and put the rebuild l28 in there... But who knows,next year i will be at the 7/10 of my mecanical classes,I will have a better job.My plan will surely changed and as i Always wanted a Silvia but never had the money,maybe it will ends in a Silvia and not a Z. But one more time,Who knows,Maybe i will find a really nice Z and build it.. or buy a freaking 4 door cavalier cause i wont have time to work on....nha,bad idea. i prefere to have no space ,no time but a fast,clean car. (her i just realized that older Zs are carb.and mine is Injection=tought to do the conversion. Anyway.For now i just want it to run before 7 foots of snow fall on her. dont worry i found a place where she will be in a dry place. By the way...your french is not so bad...but never use Google for a complet sentence. I went to a injector specialist. In the L28 I had: 3 n/a injectors pushing the corect amond of fuel. (green connectors a46-00) 1 Turbo injector pushing almost 2x the n/a one.(pink connector ''ram'' (?) 2 hazardus injectors. (black d1560ba) So, i will buy a new injector,then install them back (4 green + 2 hazardus black) and will try to put the 2 black one that i dont know how much they push on different ''stroke'' then if it still run bad i will try to disconect the black ones to see if it run smoother. NEED HELP HERE. when i will put the injectors in +fuel rail, should i load(full) them with fuel before closing all lines to be sure no air left ? thanks ,Blacktools

tonight,i I have removed the fuel rail and injectors. if anyone needs pictures; send me a mesage. tips for a beginer from a beginer: put some number to everything you dissasamble work with some light. take your time. think before acting ask help to dad or a friend if you have problems before you trow the hammer in (XD) Oh ,and when you disconnect some fuel line,don't smoke (!!) and always think where the fuel will go.....(on you?) because i've tried in the past and i can tell that fuel+eye= ouch. By the way,I plan to ''polish'' (clean up to be shinny) my fuel rail...You recomend or not ? i know it will looks better but i mean in term of durability. The injectors are busted and dont close.So my car was always flooded. I found i place were the rebuild them for 45$ each. it worth the try as some rebuilt where i take my pieces sells them 108 $... the basic says : you need air,spark and fuel....but how much ? So thanks guys for your help. as you see.I've learn. i will still give some update of ''after rebuild injector are in'' and don't worry more plans are to come......and who know ? maybe it's just not the injector !!!! It was a long time ago.Arround 2008,a cloudy day and a boy. that boy owned a 280zx named the ''Z''.She wasn't runing anymore. that boy,named blacktools,had do some research on HybridZ on what could cause a engine to run really bad.He did ask a mecanic too who answered him a fire probleme .So the kid got out of his house,went in the Zx ,poped-up the hood and started to look at any electrical wires.He already knew that many of them wasn't connected but he didnt knew where the hell they are supposed to go. The kid found a greenish wire that came out of a sensor just under the radiator tube,near the coil.The other end of the wire was a home a.k.a. ''custum'' made ground.The kid had a feeling: he removed the home-made section of the wire and connected the right wire on a another wire that was coming out of many others. then the kid boosted the battery.turned the key,pressed the gaz pedal a little. then the following is only for mature,ready to sream some bad words peoples. The engine slowly got to 1k r/min with the starter's help.then he pressed the gaz a little bit more. 1500 r/min 1750 r/min here my pants are half-way full 2000 r/min 2200 r/min 2550 r/min here they are full. Oh god,its so good to hear her after about 3 weeks.The exhaust that let the smoke go out anywhere else than by the tip,The shaking movement of the chassi 'cause it surely run on 4 cylinders,the smell of burned oil,gaz,water. She dont run without gaz pedal at at least 4/10 ,she dies. she dont go higher than 2800 r/min she smokes as hell white /grey and liltle black she sounds like it runs on 4-5 cylinders. I go at the garage in 2 days.

yhea you'r not wrong...the block look oilly. My mecanic come back from vacancy in 1 week. I will go see him and if he dont find i will have to go at Nissan delear ship. and yhea,I,ve trown a new valve cover gasket....he was srap...oil was barely sinking by there... thanks guys anyways. blacktools

Okay, I've cleaned every injector connectors with contact cleaner and brushed them to remove the corrosion. The dry plactic ''holder'' (what holds connector in place) are cracked and don't do ther job well but they (connector) are all in place well connected tought. The ZX didn't fired up..in fact she did but ,as always, died. I've saw that the 1st time i fire her up she always reach 1000 r/min and the other times juste go to 750 max. I've spotted something that may help us.When i fired her up...the first seconds she smokes white the when she run without the starter she smokes black... :::::::::::::: Is this a sign that she runs very rich (or poor)? could a bad timing cause cause that?(can i check it out myself?) can it be the thermoswitch or cold start thing ? If i dont press the gaz pedal a liltle she dont reach 200 r/min (dont run without the starter) THANKS GUYS blacktools

exactly,Woldson: Oh Boy ! I've cleaned 4 injector connectors (fault of time) and it fired up at 1000 tr/min...then slowly died. Tonight i will clean again the 4 injector and clean the 2 others too. really starts to sounds like it's the connectors. I will give you an update tomorrow. Blacktools

Guys,help me. She's sick and i'm lost. I'm a kid who win 8.60/hour.I bought her for 1,400. I don't have many mecanical experience as it's my second car.I know what's a AFM on a '89 camry and how to change some spark plugs.I help my father with his '73 Vw bus. I want to learn,this is why i've worked 163 hours to buy what makes me lives.Next year I start a mecanical class.I know how a engine work in general,the basics. I've bought a 280zx with a frame in bad shape,I knew i was going to spend many hours in there and spend 3x her price on parts.Why? cause i like that.I don't know what i do but i love to repair car.So, i bought a gaz boat full-280zx who wasn't running fine in hope to solve the probleme fast and then tune her to 250hp.Today I only want her to Idle,how many power is needed to idle a l28e ? 50lb-ft? So my goal is 50 lb-ft.As i figured out I've spend many cash to repair her.I've change the air/fuel/gaz filter,change the oil.change the fuel pump for a new one (roughly 325 bucks but i didn't looked at the price,i've thinked to my passion)I've putted some suprem gaz,changes the spark plugs and valve cover gasket.I passed many hours on her: like testing things.With that time passed on her ,I now know that my fuel pressure is good out the fuel presure regulator as it squirled 2 feet in the airs (where my eye was.) Now ,guys,I come back here. Yes i've readed the carfiche.com.As i said I'm lost. 1 hour ago I've tryed to check the AFM electricals,But where the f**k are those pins ? in the ecu ?dont have any detail except ''+ in pin no 36'' Okay enough for the lil' emotive story As some saw ,I speak french and it's not really easy for me to exprime clearly what i do.So,i will go straight ahead. after i've changed the valves cover gasket sshe was running much finer than when i bought it.but a week later she started to loss power and backfire (exhasut and some time trought intake) You guys know what i did to my car from the last posts.The only thing not writed is that i've change the fuel pump,test the fuel pressure regulator(o.k.).I've focused on the fuel system in facts. Now the ZX can't reach idle anymore. She turn on the starter then run without the starter (by himself) But only at 300 tr/min.pressing the gaz pedal don't help. I dont have air leak(at least i did't saw one).I have fuel (at the regulator) and i got sparks.(tested) And i Do have air(afm).(tested/removed/cleaned/played with it) So what's left ? injector (rebuild/109$ each/new= 179$ ouchh) I saw the connector are in bad shape: they are really easy to remove and i got ( idont know the name in english) green rust in there.The guy who had it before changed two (2) injectors.Are the 4 left dead? It's the only thing that could fail for fuel issue. If it's not that,it's a electrical probleme,as the 30 y-o ecu. So guys help me.Say anything.say that i'm gay ,that my engine is blown ,order me to test anything,If it's not absolutly ridiculus I will do it.I want her to run.I maybe don't have many cash but i can buy almost anything if you give me time and if your sure it worth it.I thrust you guys.I can test/remove/clean anything If i need too.I want to learn. give me a way to go.Anything. Please give as much as possible details.It's not my 10th Z and don't know everything of them.but a know what is an ecu,connector etc.I got a wrench and i multimeter(etc). Does anyone knows if some R33 seats fits on my 280zx ? I can custom made the rails,but in term of lenght and if its too wide (my seat aren't too fresh and i found a pair of r33 seat) Thanks a lot

yesterday I've changed the valve cover gasket. the new one is a KP one. made in japan. cost me 35$. Next step will be a new fuel regulator and timing. I found 5 not-conected wire near the coil.It surly don't help my cause. I will try to find a wiring diagram.(sugestions??) She run much better now with all I did. but she still fumes black/blue.

about 3 hours later.... Hey ! I did my oil change+oil filter (mobil 2000) I did change my spark plugs (NGK Vpower) Putted some Pennzoil engine block+oil pan cleaner (put it in the oil 10 min before oil change) and finnaly putted some Pennzoil Fuel systeme cleaner. My Diff. leak. My oil pan leak. My exhaust is very very rusted He leak just before the Cat too. QUESTION HERE. If my car smokes black ,is it caused by a bad timing ? I will go for a Timing check anyway when i will have time (and money crap brought the car and spend 83$ of little product in one shot,and fuel/air filters ! ! that without the 100$ of gaz in 2 days.....) okay. today I don't work ,so I will get my hands dirty. I will look for a electrical contact cleaner as well as a wire brush. I've change the air filter (already had a really bad plastic aftermarket one) for a brand new that looks much less restrictive and cleaner. I've also change my Gaz Filter.then I putted some higher octane gaz in (supreme) She runned a little bit better after that all done. TODAY PLANS: I will change my oil and oil filter ,Spark plugs then some armor all.It's not for the engine but the bumpers are gray...And something to degrease the engine bay because an engine bay is like a mouth,A healthy life start here:icon52: ! ....gonna put some colgate in there ??? Then I will look at her differential and tranie.My father thinks it's a clutch bearing...Anyway,changing fluids can only help her ! Ha ,and the handbrake don,t work.the caliper's pistons jam(get stuck) but the wires are new.but my ''foot'' brakes work really good. Thanks a lot for your tips. HOW SOMEONE COULD LIVE WITHOUT THEM ?? ok sorry ,first 280zx... :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D I did some of my homeworks.But i had to try her too..so i didn't check everything as I must work and sleep....... BUT ! I've looked at the spark plugs and took the compressions. i will do an non-understandable graph for you.. rear of the ZX PSI /how sparks looked 140 / wet carbon+ 140 / dry carbon++ 125 /dry carbon- 145 /wet carbon + 140 /dry carbon ++ 135 / very clean(little dry carbon) front of the ZX I've putted back the old (but hand-cleaned) plugs for the time i purchase some new... After I've did that I've fired off the car. She backfired for about 10 min.(rest of carbon that exits the cylinder?) but after 10 min she wasn't able to keep idle (die) fool and exited as I was I didn't pay attention to the gaz gauge.. I've put some and she started like a brand new. after that she runned much better than before I imagine he don't left any boat gaz in.. but I think she run very rich because she smoke black , she drink A LOT (i've putted around 10 litter and did 24 kilos.(L6 2.8l ) and she don't have many power...I've put full throttle in second at 35 km/h and i wasn't feeling any ''acceleration'' just went to 45 slowly. the wipers and rear defrost dont work,fuses are ok. but i will focus on the engine first. Then When I i go backyard she makes a little sound that grow with speed. like if the driveshaft wasn't centred and scratch the tunnel every turn.she do it a little in third too. Anyway. my next step is the oil/filters(oil air gaz)/spark plugs change. the coil is new and the old owner had change 2 injectors. Yhea KIWI, it was on my plans to drain off the tank. like you said,the exhaust gazes are blue (burned oil ) and she sounds i little bit like if she's running on 4-5 cylinder,slow and not stable. so it's maybe not just the boat gaz. I will try your ''Sea foam'' I will also do a oil change because she don't look clean at all. In fact i will change every fluids,sparks (will write you the color naviathan...) spark wires, gaz filter, oil filter. Then we will see.... Thanks ,Blacktools

absolutly. 2 stroke boat gaz. 1/2 gaz 1/2 oil:ugg: i saw on the forum it could be a or some rocker arm that could be poped-off, or a ♥♥♥♥3d-up Thermo sensor. what do you thing of that ? Thanks Blacktools
