  1. I do not see what year car you have. Anyhoo, If you have the 5 speed tranny, you should get 28mpg on the highway no matter how you drive. Most common part failure that would cause this issue is the head temp sensor or Head temp sensor harness. It depends on what year you have to where the head temp sensor is located. Early year models are in the thermostat housing and the older year models are between plug 5 and 6 on the head, passenger side.

Another thing to check is you injector harnesses. If they are corroded and green, get some replacements ends and splice them in.

  2. Just went through my system today. I blew my right knee out about eight months ago and finally recovering from knee surgery on Oct. 16. The link to the Datsun manuals were Key. Everything I needed was in the PDF file. Think I finally have it squared away, we shall see. Bad connection on C5. Dielectric grease and she should be good to go.

  3. Buy what you can afford. Overkill on brakes is a good thing. I had the solid rotors and Toyota 4x4 calipers up front with the 280zx rotors, calipers, etc. on the back with a adjustable proportioning valve. I hated that setup. This time I just went for the gusto and bought the Willwood setup and used the upgraded MC. Haven't looked back since and enjoying the setup. The vented fronts and 240sx rears may be real good. I just didn't want to take a chance on that setup. I am hard on brakes...LOL

  4. That would be my guess - it's a naturally aspirated engine and I think they use it to increase backpressure at low rpm for better response. Maybe they don't like the opening points or something?

That is exactly what they used it for. The bike I used to own had one. It was a Honda CBR 954RR.

  5. Yes I have one. I see the relay in passenger side kickpannel. I am almost sure mine has been disabled. The problem is I get a low voltage at the starter trigger wire (10.5 volts) hence the no start. If they make the relay stay on all the time I may have a bad contact on the relay. I really need a Datsun wiring diagram. The place that I worked as a tech (Nissan dealer) threw there old Datsun manuals away cause someone deceided to clean up.... go figure.... Even my older fellow Tech's couldn't believe it.

  6. Are your plugs wet with gas???????? If not, you have a fueling issue. This sure sounds like a fuel pump took a dump. Another thing. If your plugs are fowled with gas I have had a fuel pressure regulator on top of the fuel rail stick, flooding the car out. Pull the vaccum hose off and tap on the regulator. If you can get it running again then that is what is wrong. Not a common issue but it does happen 1/100 times.

  7. Nissan 5 speed better than the T5. Now that is a joke. I roached 4 NA 5 speed trannies. Parked the car and found me a T-5. I have had no other issues since. The NA Nissan trannies normally just flat out explode at the worst possible time. Yes, the Nissan trannies shift great, etc. They just won't hold up. That's why I went through so many. 7 psi of boost and the NA tranny was fine. I turned up the boost to 12 psi and it was all over but the repair bill so to speak...LOL

  8. If that dosen't work, drill it out, getting bigger and bigger. Place the car on the ground with a 2x4 underneath the wheel, lug nut on the bottom, and lift up( with only that one lug nut on). It will snap the stud. I have had to do that before for a customers Pathfinder that the stud started spinning. Worked like a charm.

I acutally just kicked the tire at the top with my foot and snapola....
