There's a British show on Velocity called "Wheeler Dealers." They mainly fix up European vehicles for a small profit. It's definitely one of my favorite shows on there.Just watched it - pretty cool episode. They pack so much action into only 30 minutes they have to skip a lot of details however. I wonder if there's a parts list somewhere? I'd like to find out what model Magnaflow muffler that is.
Nice to see a TV show about fixing up an import.

It's on tv right now for me!!!

They come out here to Vegas at SEMA time and do the optima street challenge at Spring Moutain Raceway. They show the cars off before the races and haven't seen a z car yet. There is this one blue 79 Trans am that I always drool over and talk to the owner every year at SEMA ahah. It looks like a blast to do though

I wouldn't worry about the Trans too much. I know you have a tr6060, but it's basically the same thing as a t56. Quite a few people out here are putting down 650-700rwtq to a stock internal tranny and they're still holding up in a 3500lb car. Obviously they dont have the stock flywheel or clutch. May have missed it, but doesn't the tr6060 have oil cooling lines? What'd you do with those? That's awesome! I figured somebody would! I'm currently piecing together a feasible turbo setup for mine to be installed next year hopefully. Not into the 600's to start with but hopefully work my way into it eventually. I'm swapping out transmissions though. Unless I get a good deal on another z then I'll just build it and keep this one the same.

I'm going turbo and will keep my AC! 115° is too hot not to have it here lolWhile everybody is all like "turbo this and turbo that" I'm over here like "I've got AC!!!" Lol

I will be keeping my eye on this thread...in the process of doing a Lq4 conversion and restomod on my 73 Datsun. In the chassis phase right now will do that suspension and then engine and drivetrain. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about the LQ4 or LS so a bit of learning is happening.
They're great, easy engines to work on. Always have been my favorite engine series

I want a manual, but am too cheap to buy it ahah. I was hoping that somebody would've made a copy and released it on the internet, but haven't found itPlanning my LS1 install and wondeing if anyone is still buying the Jags That Run manuals?

I tig welded mild steel tube onto the cast steel manifold using mild filler rod for my passengers side mani. So far its holding up but if I do it again I'll go with the nickel rod. The setup has roughly 2000 miles on it so far.
That's nice! I like it!

No rush bud!MeatWad, No worries man that's what forums are for! I still need to get the offset for the front rims for you. I'll call john at CCW tomorrow.
-
Yes, that's me. I used a SS flange not mild steel. I used 316L becuase it's what I had lying around. I believe "they" at your suppose to use a nickel based filler but we'll see very soon (will be fired up in the next few weeks)
Haha I'm 99medbluebird that sends you pm's every once in a while. Cant wait to see yours fire up!

Aren't you on ls1tech with the white z with the CCW's?Modified truck manifold here. They are faced up and forward.
Also what material of welding wire are you guys using to weld the cast steel onto mild steel?
-
Have a picture?Up and forward.
-
Do you have them in the up and forward position or down in forward?Mine are obx $600.

I plan on running flipped truck manifolds for the turbo. I've searched and haven't found much. I know some of you are running truck manifolds and some are running custom turbo manifolds or custom turbo headers. Is there any brand of turbo headers that can actually be bought? Most of the turbo headers I have found are usually for the fbodies. One of my truck manifolds are cracked, so I'm trying to look at my options for exhaust manifold/headers that would work in a front mount turbo LSx S30.

Forum is rotating my pictures

Yep they are on topI can't tell from your pictures, but are your knock sensors on top? I didn't like the look of my knock sensor wiring being pinched by the ribs of the intake.
-
It wouldn't matter because my engine came with just the front steam vent tube, which needs to be replaced

It seems pretty straight forward. I'm surprised somebody is converting to the 260/280z tail lights. It seems like people convert to 240z tail light for some reason

It looks great! I'm thinking of using vht black wrinkle as a texture for my dashSprayed the flex tex on. Not too bad. Have a couple little spots I missed to touch up then to paint it.

I've experienced this problem when doing a 5.3 swap into a Porsche. The computer had security programmed into it from the factory. Had to get it tuned out.
