  1. I'm not concerned with the hieght of the engine I've got a 4-1/2 cowl hood on the 280 now.

I'd just hate to cut out the strut towers to install an engine that mean MORE suspention mods

roll cages and such. I've been playing with it for 10 yrs now honing my skills on other rides just to get this one right. All I want is a street legak go-cart to rip and run the roads. It'll be a blast.

  2. I found this. That makes this look easy. I’ve had the z for 10 years now its time for a radical change.

its not mine I havent started yet

I’m just getting started with this conversion...460z that is.

I got the engine out of the u pull it yard for $165 plus tax, out of a mark 1993 viii lincoln with 128k miles on it. I have a t45 from craigslist for $50 (the guy had it rebuilt but the shop forgot to put oil back in it). It should be just fine for fitment purposes. The 260z I got off craigslist for $80, no engine, no transmission, no title, rusty but most of it is superficial. It took me a while to get the title reinstated. There are other issues holding me back... like my shop is an old corral that is falling apart. But I have managed to get an initial fit. The main problems are the exhaust vs. steering shaft and the oil filter and pressure sending unit vs. the steering rack. It looks like the remote oil change kits will solve that. The hood latch will have to be relocated. etc etc etc. Here are some pics of the first feasibility fit.

  4. Ok I've seached and searched they say its been done and a tight fit but who has a picture of that swap or any more info than the 4.6/5.4 are wide. I know that but what does it really take to do this. I'm not scared to cut up my car but I like it the way it is not really it has no engine/trans. I can get these cheap/like free.

  7. Try going to a traier place and get 2 reese hitches and make a removable step that you can put in spikes at night. Chrome steps by day, blck spikes at night. One more side swipe and it should stop. Just a thought. just make sure you are under 8 foot wide otherwise it's could be you paying.

  8. I've got a ad somewhere for a 4.6 dohc engine t-56 trans wiring harness computer two uncut keys for 5999.99. Its a make your own cobra kit. I was concidering doing then a chevy set-up just fell into my lap. I'll hunt down the add if you want.
