what wires hook up to the water temp idiot light?

hi. I have an old 95 Chevy caprice lt1 engine. I am putting it into a 69 firebird. I am currently working on the wiring for it. my question is how do I wire in the check engine light? any other helpful tips on wiring the engine would be greatly appreciated.
