I've never done anything like this, but I'm in need of a new car, so I might as well get something that I'll take care of and enjoy for a long time. To do that, I will need some help from those with experience.
Budget: $9-15k, the cheaper the better
Goal: a reliable daily driver that can get 20-30 MPG. This is not meant to be a racecar, autocross car, or anything for show. I have two ideas for the project, one to completely build up a Z from a shell, and one to buy a Z with a decent exterior and interior to simply swap in an engine and transmission.
From scratch build:
Shell - $2000 found at http://tinyurl.com/pvp476f
Engine/Tranny/Computer/Clutch/Flywheel, etc - $4500 found at http://tinyurl.com/pzd8nbf
Engine mount conversion - $600 found at http://tinyurl.com/nhovlef
Wiring harness for swap - $450 found at http://tinyurl.com/oxs2k7w
Shocks (front and rear)- $100 found at
http://tinyurl.com/nh4xg7e
Build with a head start:
Base car - $4200 found at http://tinyurl.com/qbhznpp
Engine/Tranny/Computer - $2000 found at http://tinyurl.com/pzd8nbf
Engine mount conversion - $600 found at http://tinyurl.com/nhovlef
Wiring harness for swap - $450 found at http://tinyurl.com/oxs2k7w
Shocks (front and rear)- $100 found at
http://tinyurl.com/nh4xg7e
Another engine in case the one listed above is not up to par found at

Another engine/transmission (full swap kit) - $2190 found at http://tinyurl.com/ohmfnsg
Clutch - $350 found at http://tinyurl.com/qjcccez
Obviously I've done a little research, but I still need a lot of help. I have no clue what parts I might be missing to complete the project.
