hmmm.... I was hoping at least one person would vote V8, thats kind of what I am leaning towards. I have found a couple of used sbc's and trannys on ebay/ craigslist for pretty cheap. But Im having a hard time finding a L28ET. Plus I would really like to go to carbs instead of EFI. I can actually work on carbs. Anyone talk me into (or out of) this....? **edit: I am thinking with all the money I put into rebuilding the L6 I could have a V8. And a turbo just seems too complicated for me....

I have an 81 280ZX in need of a rebuild. I am trying to decide the best course of action for the money. I dont want to just fix what is broken and half-ass this only to have it break down in a year. Eventually I would like it to be a daily driver, Im thinking two years. It doesnt have to be the biggest and baddest car on the road, but I would like to have some power under the hood. Time isnt really a concern, I have a reliable car for transportation and a motorcycle for some fun. This is my new project Money will be the deciding factor (like always ). Im just a poor college girl. Im thinking about $3000ish.... What do you guys think? Any thoughts?

I think it sounds sweet. I would definitely be interested in seeing it, and possibly doing something similar. I like the decal/paint for the letters route better though....

I am in need of a good mechanic in East TN. I havent lived here long and dont really know many people in the area. Looking for an engine and/or tranny rebuild in the future. Im a poor college girl lacking the skills, tools, and confidence( <-- mostly) to do it myself Any suggestions?

Im a 22 year old college girl. I picked up my 1981 280zx a couple of weeks ago for $1500. I thought it was a steal, all my friends think I am crazy. I have a DRZ400SM that I love to ride, but Ive already done as much to it as i would like. The only thing left is to make it a stroker but i dont really want to. So i bought this car as something new to tear apart, see how it works and see if I can get it back together again. I got to drive her for about 200 miles before she broke down at work. Wont start, not getting any fuel..... All it needs is some lovin' and I am very excited to start working on it. I have another car so this isnt a daily driver for me, although that is my goal P.S. this forum is amazing
