  1. I would assume mtnickel was using the original R180 differential in his 260Z. I think the R200's are a little wider (they use different half shafts), so what might work on one might not work on the other. I have heard of people installing adjustable rear control arms capable of widening the rear track (T3?) to create more clearance. Silvermine Motors sells a complete kit including half shafts, spacers, and bolt kit, but you still have to do the welding, since you have to use the flanges from your car. I am about to install an R200 in my 240Z and have been looking at CV possibilities. Seems to not be a lot of choice when it comes to solutions.
  2. I have often wondered if engine stands could be turned into a rotisserie. If you want 360 degree rotation, you will probably need to make them taller somehow, but you might get by without that. Please report how it turns out! By the way, I have a '71 I have owned since 1973 and I am a former Nissan partsman, so I know your car well. In 1971 there was a model change. The early '71 (Series 1), up to April 1971 and late (Series 2), April 1971 and up. There were mechanical and trim differences, you may need to know about. If your car has two vents just below the rear glass, it is a Series 1 (unless the hatch door has been replaced with a later one). I will soon be putting mine on my rotisserie (bought from Ea$twood), so we are just about at the same stage of restoration. I live in the Houston area, so if you want to contact me my email is rmeisenbach@hotmail.com. Robert
  3. A week or two ago, I stumbled across a source on the internet that sells the MSA body kits for quite a bit less than MSA, but now I can't find it. Anybody know who that might be? Are they the manufacturer? Are they of the same quality? datman240
