  2. Looking for a source for a rear speaker enclosure to use in a 1977 280z. MSA is out of stock with no estimated delivery date. I have 6x9 speakers. Thanks
  3. Awesome, great idea. Trying to upgrade the sound in my car on the low-down.
  4. I recently installed lowering springs on my 77 280Z, the ride height was exactly what I wanted. Later I removed the big factory bumpers and all the hardware and have installed the MSA fiberglass bumpers. with all that weight being gone, I feel like the car is sitting somewhere close to stock levels again. What do you folks think about cut a small portion of the spring for a little additional lowering? At one time I had heard cutting a stock spring was not wise but lowering springs wouldn't be as adversely affected. Appreciate any feedback! Thanks Jay

  12. If you are using poly, you have to remove it or they won't fit.
  13. I have seen the same piece on another 280z. I purchased the car from the original owner and he never modified anything, still had original exhaust.
  14. What is the purpose of the little "flap" on the passenger side of the transverse? 1977 280z
  15. Thanks for the information, yep, I had one HA and one VA front and rear, made for about a 1/4 to 3/8 difference in ride height. You would think they would put something in the way of directions in the box. I also did not find anything about this on their website.
  16. I tried to email Datsun Fiberglass and it came back undeliverable....
  17. I am going to change out my existing 280Z bumpers to the 240Z style fiberglass bumpers. I am interested to hear from others who have purchased these bumpers. MSA has them for $179 ea, shipping is about $100. There is another company on line, located on the E. Coast that is selling them for $100, I believe its called Datsun Fiberglass. Their website is not fully functional and they have very little information. In my case I want the bumpers to be black so I was kind of hoping for a product that requires minimal finishing. Thanks for any input.
  18. Well, the springs came with no directions, the only markings were the part number on the spring, I installed them all with them with the part numbers oriented the same way. They are the Vogtland brand springs. Didn't really know there was a right or wrong direction. As the car has begun to settle, the difference is only about a 1/4" at best which is negligible to me.
  19. I have a 280Z that I just put a new bushing kit on, I also installed new struts and 1" lowering springs. The driver side is about almost 3/8"" lower in the rear. The springs are in their perch's and the car drives great. any thoughts on what might be causing this difference? Thanks
  20. Was able to locate the FSM online to answer all my questions. Thanks
  21. I just completed the installation of a new bushing kit on my new to me 280Z. I am looking for a torque setting resource for everything. I only have a Haynes manual but its pretty useless, it makes torque references on a chart without clear indication of what part they are referring to. I am basically look for: front and rear control arms, ball joints, and the transverse. Thanks for the assistance!
  22. I recently purchased a 77 280Z, while replacing all the bushing I noticed this very home made looking bracket attached to the car. It is bolted through the diff support bracket that also holds the control arm bushings. It consists of a main base and attached to it is a stack of several pieces of plate that come up right under the rear sway bar. Any ideas what they may have been trying to do here?
