  3. My 83zxt parts/swap car has 200K miles on the drivetrain, and I was wondering if anyone had a ballpark figure would cost to have transmission rebuilt?
  4. So is it confirmed or not that a turbo z gas tank will work? or is it only the 75-76?
  5. I picked up a new 73 240z finally the other day. One of the immediate things I was hoping to do was replace the antenna...the mast is broken, the motor still works fine. Apparently there are no easy solutions for replacing this other than custom fitting one from MSA? Another issue is that my bumpers are painted black..I was wondering if its possible to take them back to chrome...I have no idea how they were prepped.
  6. How much easier/difficult is the megasquirt system to setup? I understand it needs more fuel requirements such as lines and pump correct? How about the wiring overall?
  7. My bad, I meant 40K on the rebuilt motor, 190K on the chassis. He is asking $4500, and its a shame because it's the cleanest looking 240z I have found around here in the last month or so...except for the rust issues.
  8. So, I am planning on renting a car/room and driving down to LA from norcal to hopefully find a Z to purchase. Does anyone have any general info on this event? I can't seem to find much except for registration for showing your car. When is it exactly and can you just go to observe/look?
  9. So I have been looking for an early Z to play around with, most likely swap an l28et into. I came across this: Let me know what you think this would be worth and if the rust issues would be worth it? It has original l24 rebuilt with 40K miles. Claimes to be all stock.
  10. It would be due to having to rebuild the bottom end as well as the head on the 83, as opposed to just using the good condition 73 L28 bottom end as is, and some reworking of the 83 head.
  11. The head I have on my 83 is a P90, this is all hypothetical as I am considering buying a 73 240z with an L28/T5 swap already in it. Not sure what the block is though....N42 is the one to look for with dished pistons correct?
  12. So I picked up a junker 83zxt mainly for the l28et in it, it runs, however when accelerating it starts to hang around 4K rpm, but if you let off the throttle a little and accelerate again sometimes it will rev up fine. I was told this is due to the AFM?

I have seen where some suggestions have been made to convert an existing l28 transplant to turbo instead of swapping the whole motor......if I already had an 83zxt and 73z with l28/t5 could I technically just swap the top end/turbo/EFI/harness to the 73? Do other fixes have to be made for it to work...oil lines etc? Thanks in advance...yes I searched
