  1. OK so since I want to build a Really nice oldschool VG30E-TT I figure Ill pull the rest of it out of my Z31 and build it on the Bench. So For now I want to make another type of Hybrid. The KA24DE-T Z31 So far I have Aquired: 1993 240sx KA24DE motor in good shape complete with 5SPeed Transmission and Razo SHort SHift. Next I am going to get Exhaust piping/ Welding materials/Some Steel and basic seal kits and rings for the Motor as Well as Pistons as I will keep stock ROds and Crank. Also Have injectors from the wrecker that I plan on getting cleaned and Mapped. So in the next few Days I will be posting tons of pics Very Detailed this time around and Exact costs in materials to build a Fairly decent KADE-T motor that fits into a Z31 without to much issue. *hehe yeah right!!* So. Stay tuned as I figure since there is millions of KA's in the world waiting to be Freshened up. Lets see total cost to at least make 250+hp out of a KA thus making a fairly decent DD Z31 with the wide selection of parts offered for KADE motors/Transmissions Motor Pic Before! Soon to be After hehe
  2. I need the transmission for my swap. I do have my NA 5 Speed 280zx Transission as well but not sure if it bolts to KAde so just sticking with its complete setup in my z31. Should be nice when I get turbo for it. As for now I will cut up some exhaust piping make headers and a Mount for Turbo plug it off till I can aquire a turbo and just clean up ngine get new seals chain ect ect.. Doing a hell of alot of side jobs in and around Calgary to fun this project. So far in two weks I made $1000 and paid all bills rent and my last large loan check $650. So I have just under $500 left over and still have some more side jobs So if work keeps coming in I hope to make about $3000 in the next month and a bit and aquire everythign I need to make a good KA24DE-T Z31 =-) not many around from what I can find on net they are all SR20's but I'd rather have that torq Monster with a turbo =-) and 2.4L disp.

  5. yees I know react time and ET dont match lol.. Anyway my point is Loaded down like I would be on any given sunday! I can pull off a 15sec run with a Car that cost me $1100 to buy and $600 or so in extra stuff from the wrecker and some fancy blue lights (parts like battery, fuses,wires blah blah hehehe) Just loving the car ok geeeezee SO serious some of these draggers are.. LOL Fine ill crank the boost to 15psi instead of stock and add my intercooler LOL

Hmm now which one should I put my newly aquired KAde into hmmm My Engineless 1984 300zx NA (due to rebuilding it) or my 280zxTurbo hmmmmm Cause then I have to ponder if I should swap the L28ET into the 300zx hahah that would just be wacky.. Opens the hoods *300zx with L28ET (modified 300zxt ECU) * *280zxt with KADET motor* that should cock some heads to the right and the left
  7. hehe Yeah I just bought a Good KA24DE out of a 93 240sx with Low Kilo for $225 I said I was poor but I also offered to fix his piece of Crap Fords Manual gear box soooooo LOL.. Anyone in need of a VG30DE got one from an infinity swap I did for a customer.. Runs good

  11. So First run brakes on no Throttle.. Automatic. 15.457 @ 90.45MPH Second run Brakes on throttle to 2200rpm 15.01 @ 94.98MPH First run I beat my friends Chevelle his is fairly decent with 4" straight pipe off Hooker headers with a new motor stroked 407 to 411.5 Second run Infinity G35 Silver Beat him he had .75 reaction time 90.45 MPH and I was 1Second (ughh lol ) busy looking at girl with big boobs lol at the 94.98 yeaha Z! Oh and thats with Big sub in back spare tire jacks small tool kit 25 CD's LOL and some water haha both seats in car LOL so I figure without all that crap 13.5's
  12. I removed mine the other day and its better buuut.. Like even when I was at track today I would bog while tryign to spin tires then finally boost would kick in and spin em. soooo... not sure
  13. Gotta love the junk yard. Trimmed rear section about 8" and riveted in on works ok with only a couple adjustments at the front wheel well. dont mind the dents on passenger side... I uhhh... had my lights off... at night.... driving across a small train bridge... and uh... "somebody" was trying to follow me.... but I was to fast and.... kinda tapped the metal guard rail... yeah not the brightest moment but no tickets yay!.... Student Budget soooooo dont expect much haha plus has to be painted to match and the hood is my other 280z's Fixing the turbo hood LOL.. WORK IN PROGRESS!! or perhaps Abstract Z.. Hey the engine is great dose 130mph without skipping a beat sooo lol all the money is in that so far and Brakes haha
  14. So my guess is your final words were "Sh*T Sh*t Sh*t!!!!" I dont know what it is but seeing a crashed Z makes my stomach litterally turn =-( I think I just love them to much! Good thing your safe and What a nice clean Front Windsheild MAN! just remeber your next Z has to have something from that Z . You could call her Devil Z hehehe Watch the cartoons on youtube... you'll see what i mean!
  15. Hey getting bored driving around by myself LOL. So I would like to create a Nissan / Z club. Where we all meet up for Tim hortons / 94 Octane and rip around "SAFELY" unless we rent a track hehehe. Share ideas/ Skills/ trade parts and preform group buys. Would like to make if free of charge everybody just communicates through Text or Email's I have a shop at home and work on my car all the time but as a apprenticing mechanic I would also like to get into more engines RB's, KA's, Sr's, CA's ect ect. I have all the tools needed to do entire swaps and the space (small farm) so it would be nice to get something going where we all benefit through TEAMWORK. Sorta like a Pit Crew lol. Looking for names: Pit Crew Z CruiZin blah blah blah lol Would accept all Datsun/ Nissan Again obviously respect most rules of the road so the Piggers dont bother the crew and the neighbours get involved rather than Annoyed.   16. Hey you dont need one just flip it Upsidedown or grind a bit of the material off the intake. I just flipped mine upsidedown and used Bike brake cable to the stock arm at Firewall and then used cable crimps and made a loop so it loops right over the stock nipple on the firewall armature. if you need pics let me know. works great and to prevent wear I just spray every week or so the arm with a bit of chain wax.. so far so good no wear at all.
  17. yeah see after its warm for the most part like 90% its fine runs great tons of power. but if I sit at a light to long (its idelling awesome) but when I go to go it bogs and puffs some smoke unless I let off throttle for a half second or jam on it and let the turbo blow that crap out LOL so weird!!.. I hear now to check my ECU connections so I guess Ill tap the damn things tight so they dont move and see if that helps
  18. I was thinking that but then I thought well wouldnt the vacuum suck fuel through that hose or worse create to much Vac pressure in Tank and crush it? no idea... but I just left it with the rubber line kinda beside the coolant bottle pointing downwards so no crap gets in
  19. I just put in electrics (Dual) from a 1998 dodge caravan. I just trimmed the plastic about .5" and then used many large Zipties thick black ones and zip tied through Rad around rad and under bottom SO far no melting nothing but am in process of making metal mounts. Just drilled extra holes in the plastic for future support. It gives me 3/4" clearance from all frontal moving parts and keeps her at about 70oC or less and on full throttle only reaches juuuuust below half heat and thats running 10psi boost PLUS! Added bonus it is wide enough that it cools not only the entire rad but the engine/ the Alternator and the Exhaust manifolds and turbo and Intake areas. Runs great tons of power and as I said keeps turbo and under manifold nice and cold due to its stagger. Plus as I stated the alternator is kept chilled thus greater longevity when running all the electrical crap
  20. I just did the same thing and left line pointing downward no issues with Fuel smell to small a hole to really ramp up the smells I guess
  21. So yeah I wiggled the ECU connector and car turned off LOL. guess ill get in that rats nest and clean that up next LOL. But yeah I dont have a code scanner. How do you reset the Z31 ecu again? Unplug bat for like 20 mins isnt it? Yeah I had issue with 280zxt ECU and the Z31 so must be grounds. Just finished cleaning up stereo stuff with all new wires and grounds then Rigged in a Dual Electric Fan off a caravan (with much chopping to make it fit haha) made a nice little switch by my stereo to turn it off and on (glows green when on yay!) then proceeded to rivet some crap on so it didnt come loose ect ect. Soooooo yeah it happens only when I first turn on car idles rough for the first 3 mins gotta keep a tiny bit of throttle. Then every so often as I said at a stop sign I go to Go and puffs smoke hesitates almost like the coil is shutting off or something but like I said I wiggles the ECU cable and car shut right off so gonna try to get it greased up see if that helps and then cleean up those grounds.. DO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT PIN is that ECU ground im not supposed to BODY GROUND
  22. I have the Same issue. I have been asking around here for awhile. I switched even to 300zxt ECU, 300zx MAF, sparkplugs, wires, coolant temp sensor, thermostat, vacuum lines,removed even EGR, AAC, friggin tried everything so let me know what you find. Cause I have the exact same issue
  23. So, I have had this issue for awhile now and have been able to medicate it for the most part. Couple things: Swapped ECU's to the 300zxTurbo Tb swapped to 240SX I had a 300zx O2 sensor but it got fouled due to a pressure regulator issue so I put the stock 280zxTurbo O2 in for now. Issue: Morning idle rough until warm (not extreme but backfiring if you step on it) After driving down the road or first thing in morning when I go to press throttle I get hesitation, stumbling and coughs of black smoke Stop sign or lights: complete stop I got to WOT and it coughs and sputters until I hit about 2500rpm and turbo kicks in and vwoosh car goes flying. after its cruising its totally normal, tons of power. I cant remeber if my 300zxt O2 sensor cured this issue cause it only lasted a week cause FPR was at 60psi so it fouled plugs and O2 Now its fine to drive around when your moving but if you do a complete stop and then go to throttle her she hesitates 85% of the time. Plus it seems to be using to much fuel. As a Apprentice Mechanic I would say its the O2 but if I move the tps around or move ignition timing around sometimes its better or worse *TPS movement geneally makes it horrible* So..... My main guess is the 280zxt O2 is not right for the 300zxt ECU, I have my NA o2 300zx in the garage I could try that I suppose as I also have the Turbo DOwnpipe from a scrap yard. I also have the 300zx MAF as I have my 300zx Im rebuilding in garage to. so if anyone Can tell me the proper proceedure for TPS settings/MAF settings, O2 Sensor wiring (Like which pins are the 3 O2 sensor wires going to) and anything else tips ect let me know TY guys! Tired of $20 liters lasting 120km and crappy starts off the line.
  24. haha is my way of showing that all the work I have done on these Z's has made me slightly insane so it makes perfect sence. anyhow... enough of the attacks LOL Back to the shop I'm busy creating the next apperician.   25. yeah I was going to say just buy the damn thing for 200-300 pull it all apart BUT FIRST DO A COMPRESSION CHECK make sure you do a dry run and a wet run (with a couple drops of oil) then go from there I mean rings are rings. take a weekend or to and put that shat together. Just giver!!! I do and my shat runs ! lol Give her a bath and some paint and she'll keep going for you till the sun finally dies out and the earth is shattered and there in space our L28's remain Supernova Proof!
