  1. Im using the Apex gasket kit for my L24 rebuild and the head gasket bore is a bit larger than cylinder bore. It list as working with the 2.6, 2.4 and 2.8 I assume the bigger bore is for the 2.8. Besides loss of compression ratio is this gasket really ok?
  2. Appreciate the help! I think I've located some banjo fittings that will work!
  3. Ive been rebuilding my l24 and recently got the my head back from the machine shop after putting in new exhaust valve guides seats. I noticed that there is a small amount of side to side play when rocking the valves in their guides (about as much as the old intake guides) but more worryingly they don't seem to seal well. When I put my finger over the back of the valve guide and pull the valve out it doesn't hold vacuum or pop even as well as the used intake guides. Is this normal or should I be worried?
  4. Anyone know where I can find the fuel line fittings that goes on top of the float bowl for a pair of Round Top SU carbs? Picked these up a few months back and am just getting around to finishing up the engine build.

  6. Appreciate the advice guys, I have a lot to think about but I'll put together a parts list for both options and see what it's going to take.
  7. Hey, just bought this 73 240z recently and it looks like the #1 cylinder has rust on it. Am very new to engine work and was wondering if this is something I can hone out or will it need to be machined? The pistons were also filled with this gunk when I took the head off and there are marks on the pistons. I thought the marks might be the valves hitting but what about all this gunk?
