  1. It's a grey 1983 Datsun 280ZX Base, equipped with the N/A L28E, the previous owner claimed "It ran rough before sitting for about 10 yrs. I've had several mechanics try to fix it but they couldn't." The body seems straight, rust hasn't gone all the way through. Mostly on the hood and passenger side quarter panel. Blue interior- kinda torn up with a cracked dash, and the clutch has no back pressure, which I am assuming is the Master cylinder. Driver's side mirror needs to be replaced, along with a side marker. I've heard these are relatively simple to work on, since everythings in sight. Should I get rid of it or try to restore it?
  2. thank you. I'm planning on rebuilding the motor and doing something like a twin-turbo setup on it- hopefully after I bore the motor to 3.1l. Do you know (or think) this can be a relatively easygoing job?
  3. It's got the Naturally aspirated version of the L28, but It's fuel injected. The hood cable latch broke.
  4. ok. I'll see what I can do- but I am not sure how many miles it has, though. I'm still waiting for the title to be signed over to me.
  5. I bought a 1983 Datsun 280zx, non-turbo. It doesn't run currently- the previous owner said it ran pretty rough before he left it for a couple years. The body is straight- very solid. The quarter-panels are good, along with the front fenders and skirts. There is a bit of surface rust on the hood, and the passenger-side taillight is broke. My friend said to take a compression tester to see if the engine has good compression, but I haven't got the chance to do so. I am committed to this car. I will do whatever it takes to bring it back to life.
