  1. would loud metallic sounding noises, (in synch with exhaust) coming from the driver side of the engine be a sign of a cracked exhaust manifold or would it indicate another issue inside of the engine? It doesn't make a tinging sound but more of an "air escaping quickly from a metal straw" sound.
  2. Ok we recently bled the brakes and tried to find the source of the leak but we still have not fixed the problem.
  3. Hello Forums, 1976 Datsun 280z I recently developed a problem with my brakes in the form of the brake pedal not going down at all and when pressure is applied to it. When car is off and I apply pressure I hear a little burst of air escaping but yet the pedal still does not go down. When the car is running I hear a steady light stream of escaping air but the pedal still does not go down. Another seemingly odd occurence is that when the car is running and I apply pressure to the brake, the engine seems to run richer as if the intake has an obstruction. If anyone could please help with this it would be greatly appreciated. I checked the master cylinder caps and the hoses leading away but I still feel no air bursts (the reason i did this is because the leak seems to be coming from the Master cylinder). Im also not losing a noticeable amount of fluid and I dont see any fluid leaks at all. Thanks, Brian
