Well I'm 18 and I just bought my first Z about a week ago, a '81 280zx, for $2k. I live in Australia. I looked around at all sorts of v8 z's, 260's, and no cheap 240's But I ended up choosing the 280zx because it had a great body and the interior has all the technology of a more modern car and a nice price. I think that if you can have a look at the car, compare the condition it's in with other z's, you will have a better idea of what you think it is worth. My car has a few minor issues, like gas struts etc but I love it and yesterday I got stared at by a girl in yellow 260... I'm sure we'll meet again. And always give a low offer.
